No prior experience is necessary for this class; a basic level of fitness is helpful but not essential. Clients are introduced to the equipment, techniques and some basic exercises. Recommended as your first class with Ten or for those of you who would like to practice at a gentler pace - though it's still more than enough of a workout to get those all important endorphins going.

She then pursued a further two years of study to complete a master’s degree in preventive and adapted physical activity. It was during her various internships throughout her studies, where she developed a passion for posture related activities and Pilates. Katy Wiltshire (Massage Hybrid)
Studying sports therapy at university, Katy has had a range of placement experiences doing soft tissue therapy and massage. This ranges from physiotherapy clinics to elite sport! With this founding knowledge of anatomy and musculoskeletal injury, Katy is here to help with any restrictions, imbalances, or pain caused from an existing or previous injury including post-op scar recovery.

No matter who the person is, Katy is a firm believer of a holistic assessment and targeting the body as a whole… Chances are, if you’re struggling in one area of the body, it’s influencing somewhere else too!

Coming from a dance background and now training in both pilates and yoga, Katy is eager to help with posture, flexibility, and mobility work. She has also gone on to do further training in women’s health, including pre and postnatal massage and soft tissue therapy. Again she takes a holistic viewpoint looking at your lifestyle, pelvic floor activation, and breath work to name a few!

Outside of work you’ll find Katy eager to travel, particularly pretty cities and anywhere she can be by the sea/in nature! Katy loves reading, cozy cafes, or getting back into her love of ballet/dance.

Brett Starkowitz
Brett has been in the fitness industry for nearly 20 years, discovering Pilates back in 2005 when looking for an exercise method that would enhance his other training techniques. He soon qualified in classical and contemporary Pilates and began teaching both in a 1-1 and group training environment.

Brett has seen many successes in his years of teaching, especially in the fields of sports specific conditioning, occupational wellness, stress management and injury care and prevention. He is a great proponent of cross training and maintains that by adding Pilates to an exercise regime, you will see a dramatic improvement across the board. As a participant in Brett’s class, you know you’re in experienced and caring hands.

In addition to teaching, Brett is experienced in delivering education and continued learning to new trainers and those wishing to develop their knowledge. He has presented at several fitness conferences and regularly runs attended workshops. Always looking to further his own knowledge, Brett took a sabbatical for postgraduate study at Henley Business School.

When he is not studying, you’re more than likely to find Brett in the gym or walking his beloved Havanese, Alaska.

Thu 12 December6:00pmIntermediate to Advanced - Dynamic Reformer Pilates Transition Class
An upbeat and energising session, ideal for Intermediate clients keen to try the extra challenge that our Advanced Classes offer, but unsure about what to expect. It’s also a great reintroduction for Advanced clients coming back after some time off. It’s a little slower-paced than a regular Advanced Class (though you’ll still challenge yourself and raise a sweat). We’ll focus on optimal form and technique, along with an introduction to some new advanced level exercises, and next-level progressions of familiar routines.

Adam Ridler
Sport was always something Adam had a passion for, leading him to study Sports Science at university, initially focusing on strength & conditioning and performance enhancement, but quickly developing skills in other areas.

It was whilst studying that Adam’s other passion emerged, as he was introduced to rowing. He went on to become part of the Great British Lightweight development squad, enabling him to work alongside Olympic champion coaches and athletes.

Working with people to help them move well and understand their bodies is something Adam particularly enjoys. For him, what brings greatest satisfaction is working with people to overcome barriers, unlock their potential and understand what makes them feel their best brings.

Adam is a hugely experienced fitness professional. In addition to spending many years as a Personal Trainer and Dynamic Reformer Pilates instructor, he has also worked in corporate wellness, teaching employees to become more active throughout the day, and understanding both the short term performance and long term health benefits this brings.

He has also worked in the emerging and increasingly important field of Exercise as Medicine, leveraging the latest insights and data to demonstrate how exercise can be an important element in the prevention, treatment and recovery process for various illness and diseases.

By keeping an eye on the latest research and key opinions Adam believes in following the best practice and evidence based methods to continue to move forward with his skills and teaching methods.

Away from the studio Adam will most likely be found outdoors, ideally on the water, and whenever possible, competing at major national events.
