Open Reformer Pilates sessions

Open Reformer Pilates

We’re looking forward to being able to resume our trademark Dynamic Reformer Plates classes on May 17th – or just as soon as Government restrictions permit.

But in the meantime, for anyone who can’t wait that long to get back on the Reformer, we’re launching our Open Reformer Sessions, starting Monday April 12th.

What’s an Open Reformer Pilates Session?

Think of it as a personal workout on a Pilates Reformer.

You book a time slot, which gives you access to one of our Reformers for the duration of your session. You can use it do your own workout or one of the Dynamic Reformer Pilates workouts from our On Demand platform (or someone else’s, if you prefer). Alternatively, we’ll create a Workout of the Day that you can follow – just ask for it at reception when you arrive.

Sessions last 45 minutes to give us time to clean the Reformers in between.

If you need a spot of help

Although it’s not a class, one of our Trainers will be present during all sessions to offer suggestions or advice in case you get stuck or need a bit of help.

They’ll be happy to suggest some sequences or flows for you to try, or some regressions or alternative exercises if you’re working around an injury.

They’ll offer postural tips and technique cues to help you improve performance or form, or give you a hand if you’re having problems adjusting the Reformer.

But please don’t ask them to direct or supervise the entire workout. Whether for the group as a whole (that’s a class, and we’re not yet permitted to run them), or just for yourself (that’s a PT, and is now available for booking separately).

Who can attend?

As with any self-guided workout, you are exercising at your own risk, so Open Reformer sessions are not suitable for beginners. You must have attended an Intermediate level class and be comfortable with the exercises and techniques in order to take part.

How to book

Open Reformer sessions are available at all Studios, except for Little Venice and Tottenham Court Road – you’ll find them on the class schedule. You can book your sessions online or by contacting your preferred studio.

You can use any existing class blocks to book your Open Reformer Session. Alternatively, session passes are available to buy priced at £15 each or £75 for a block of 5.

Hygiene and distancing

We continue to follow Government and UK Active guidelines for distancing, cleaning and hygiene – you’ll find full details on the website.

We ask that you wear a mask when in our premises – though not while exercising – and keep to the same Reformer throughout your workout. And as always, we ask that you wear gripsocks on the Reformer.
