Pilates matwork develops the basic techniques and principles of Pilates. Focusing on core exercises and postures, this form of Pilates relies entirely on the body as a means to exercise efficiently. It is by no means a less challenging workout and is a highly effective method of introducing correct posture, movement and balance.

These matwork sessions are available following assessment and/or physiotherapy referral only.

All Pilates matwork sessions at Little Venice Pilates have a maximum of four clients and provide individual targeted tuition. Exercises are provided to suit your individual goals and needs within a small group session lead by a senior or master level Pilates instructor or therapist.

Danilo Caruso
Originally from the beautiful island of Sicily, Danilo has been a devotee of sport and exercise since (almost) as long as he could walk.

He began at just 3 years old, practicing Judo with his Aunt (a multiple world champion) and then trying has hand at a variety of sports before discovering dance at 14.

Danilo’s hobby became his profession, as he passed the audition for one of the most prestigious arts universities in Europe, Codarts, in Holland, before moving to the UK, where he graduated from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. (As a Postgraduate, he also won the prize for best achievement of the year in 2012.)

After his graduation Danilo worked as a professional dancer for a number of leading national and international choreographers. He danced as lead performer for the National Theatre, as well performing at the Royal Opera House and Sadler’s Wells, both in London and in their UK tours.

He has always used Pilates as a base for his training, having discovered that it was the most efficient way to prevent injuries. After gaining his Matt Pilates qualification, he decided to combine his Pilates knowledge with the benefits of his dance experience and understanding of body awareness, muscle isolation and proprioception by teaching Pilates to professional dancers.

Danilo’s passion to share his knowledge and insights with a wider audience led him to join the Training team at Ten.

He likes a laugh, loves parks, nice walks, a good book, photography and of course mamma’s cooking.

Using Pilates apparatus including the Reformer, Barrel, Wunda Chair and Cadillac, in these small group classes at Little Venice you will follow your own individual programme as you rotate between each piece of Pilates equipment. Each machine features a system of springs, creating resistance to allow and encourage the muscles of the hips, shoulders, arms and legs to work effectively. The resistance of each machine can be altered and set to suit the needs of each individual. This enables our team to devise a programme to facilitate the best possible outcome for our clients’ varying needs.

An introductory assessment/therapist referral is required prior to taking part in a Group Circuit class.

Lucy Threlfall (Physio/Pilates)
After completing her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of South Australia, Lucy went on to complete further postgraduate training in Pilates. Having spent several years teaching Pilates in a clinical setting, she has a strong focus on technique and control, and an appreciation for the role Pilates can play in injury prevention, rehabilitation and improving function and performance.

Lucy takes a holistic approach to health and is passionate about the improved strength, mobility, control and body awareness that Pilates brings, and the way these benefits can flow on to other aspects of life. She believes in the rewards of Pilates not only for those recovering from injury, but for overall fitness, health and well-being.

Zoe Cornwall
A dancer from childhood, Zoe attended ballet school full time as a child before coming to London to train in contemporary dance at the Laban centre. After graduating, she combined performing as a dancer with working in the fitness industry, teaching group exercise classes and in the gym.

Zoe first discovered Pilates as part of her dance training, and continued to practice it for many years after graduation. When a car accident brought her dance performance career to a premature end, Pilates played a vital role in her recovery. Spurred on by the success of her own rehab, Zoe decided she wanted to help other people in a similar position and gained her Mat Pilates qualification. She has been teaching Mat, and latterly Dynamic Reformer, Pilates ever since.

Zoe is a big believer that in life and in exercise alike, with the right motivation and the right tools you can do whatever you set your mind to. To help her clients achieve their goals and ambitions, she draws from her own experience and continual training in a variety of fitness disciplines, from clients’ own experiences and journeys and, last but by no means least, from the principle that enjoyment is a fundamental part of successful learning – so expect her sense of humour to be very much to the fore.

No prior experience is necessary for this class; a basic level of fitness is helpful but not essential. Clients are introduced to the equipment, techniques and some basic exercises. Recommended as your first class with Ten or for those of you who would like to practice at a gentler pace - though it's still more than enough of a workout to get those all important endorphins going. 55 mins.
Frances Bowden
Frances has had a love for sport as long as she can remember. Running around a hockey field on frosty Sunday mornings aged eight eventually evolved into a degree in Sport and Exercise Science at Loughborough University (though she can still be found running around a hockey field on frosty Sunday mornings).

Over the course of her degree, Frances developed a passion for exercise prescription and lifestyle modification, wanting to help people move better whilst living heathier and happier lives.

Frances enjoys the client journey, focusing on all aspects of exercise, nutrition and lifestyle to achieve the kind of functional and sustainable results that will benefit a client every single day. She works to the needs of the body, developing strength and flexibility whilst identifying and correcting muscular imbalances created by our 21st century lifestyle to minimise the risk of injury.

Frances loves nothing more than proving to someone that they can do something and that, with the right attitude, anyone can achieve anything.

Over the past three years, she has worked with a range of clients from age 16 to late 80s with both clinical and non-clinical backgrounds. She has helped people from all walks of life achieve their goals, whether that’s to return to walking unaided right through to helping clients return to top-level competitive sport.

Dynamic Reformer Pilates adds another string to Frances’ bow and she is passionate about its seemingly unlimited potential for rehab and for developing the building blocks for functional strength training.

Upbeat, encouraging and super-smiley, Frances brings a warmth and infectious enthusiasm to her classes – along with a breadth of technical knowledge and experience.

London’s first Reformer-based stretch class, TenStretch, uses one the most versatile pieces of exercise equipment available, to enable a deeper, more effective stretch than you could achieve unassisted. Although the class will improve all-round flexibility and mobility, we place specific focus on the problem areas and muscle groups most adversely affected by the muscular imbalances and postural challenges of 21st century living.
No specific level of fitness or experience is required.
Erica Foulds
Erica’s love and appreciation for both general fitness and precise movement started early, with classical ballet training. This dual passion for technique-driven exercise and a good old-fashioned workout can also is reflected in her many qualifications – she combines a degree in human communication science with qualifications in personal training, fitness instruction and indoor cycling.
Erica is equally happy helping people recover from serious injury (she has previously worked as an exercise rehab therapist in a clinical stroke rehabilitation unit) and pushing people to achieve their fitness goals (spin and gruelling outdoor fitness sessions are particular favourites of hers.)
For the majority of Erica’s career, she has worked for some of London's top financial institutions as a corporate fitness wellbeing advisor and personal trainer integrating health and fitness into the lives of the chronically time-poor.
Erica has a strong belief in the age old ‘healthy body, healthy mind’ motto and her passion is about making it available for all.
When not at the studio you can find her on a bike (with the latest Ibiza mixes keeping her on the pace) or tapping her toes to the beat at a Dalston jazz cafe.

Chrisen Hall
Chrisen began teaching Pilates and Yoga in 2010 in Sydney, Australia and is thrilled to be sharing his passion for mindful movement with London.

Chrisen stumbled across Pilates as a teenager in his own living room (his mum had bought a Pilates DVD set from late night infomercials). From that day, Pilates has been a huge part of his life, joined shortly afterwards by Yoga and Barre

He is a fully certified in StottPilates, Yoga instructor and Barre. He has also completed additional Pilates and Yoga trainings with BASI Pilates, Polestar Pilates, Courtney Miller, Christina Sell and Ana Forrest. He brings a wealth of knowledge to his classes, having also studied a Bachelor of Arts and Science majoring in Anatomy and Music.

Chrisen’s approach to fitness is fun, dynamic and challenging. His classes are filled with warmth, encouragement and positivity. He is known for his attention to detail and his creative variations on traditional Pilates exercises. He is very passionate about the precision of each exercise to maximise his client’s results and mastery.

He enjoys teaching a combination of Pilates, Yoga and Barre classes as he believes that a movement practise that makes you feel connected from mind to body is essential to becoming the best version of yourself. Mindful exercise empowers you and helps you tackle life’s big challenges and the stress of everyday living in a busy city.

Chrisen is also a musician and needs regular stillness and serenity to fuel his busy lifestyle. In his spare time, you will find him moving at a slower pace – singing and playing instruments or finding quiet time by going on long walks around the city.

Caroll Kerner
Caroll is originally from the Champagne region in France. To say that she likes travel and physical challenges is something of an understatement.

She has always been a keen horserider and a runner. When she moved to London she discovered Thai boxing, and after a few years’ training, moved to Kho Samui where she trained for a further five months, taking part in three fights (and winning all three).

On returning to London, she was persuaded to enter her first London Marathon – the first of 14 marathons (5 of them in London) all completed in good times, along with a100km race, which she finished in just over 10 hours.

When she lived in Australia and Vanuatu she took up cycling, and as a result found herself competing in the Alpes d’Huez. With its 21 hairpins, this is one of the legendary ascents of the Tour de France, which she climbed in just over an hour on a steel bike.

Just to add an extra element of challenge (and yet more travel), Caroll trained in Krav Maga in Israel, qualifying as an Instructor. And picking up some injuries along the way, which in turn, introduced her to Pilates and her teaching qualification.

Over the past decade she has participated in a number of courses at the some most respected institutes in the field of holistic health and exercise. With her in-depth understanding (and personal experience) that functional movement patterns are essential to maintain a healthy, efficient and pain free body, Carroll ensures that Pilates is at the core of every exercise and program that she does.

As a Trainer, Caroll is strict yet patient; a perfectionist but also a good motivator. As the basis of all Pilates, she insists on correct and transferable technique in all exercises – so you can practice in everyday life what you learn in class. But above all, she aims to develop routines that suit, stimulate and encourage everyone in her classes.

Dee Rawlins
Dee’s journey into fitness started at the age of 21 with Bikram Yoga after a pelvis injury opened her eyes into the importance of looking after the body. After practicing for 4-years she took her first yoga teacher training in Anusara yoga in the U.K. before continuing her education in Pre & Postnatal yoga.

Recreationally she had already started to explore the art of Qi Gong and Martial arts, leading her to move to China and learn more of these ancient disciplines.

Whilst in China, Dee took her studies at Beijing Sports University, where she studied Sports rehabilitation through Chinese massage and medicine.

Keen to broaden her knowledge even further, Dee went in search of something that was not only versatile but would complement her previous experience and skills. Pilates was the answer, and she quickly fell in love with its principles and effectiveness with a range of uses from rehabilitation and sports performance to general body conditioning and functional movement.

Dee has since trained with various different Pilates bodies and educators from Australia, Asia and America and has completed Polestar Pilates Comprehensive studio training programme and Network Pilates Australia Mat and Pre/Post natal training programme. She has over 5-years teaching experience and has recently returned back to the UK after living abroad.

To stay grounded Dee meditates daily, practices Pilates with various instructors and runs in London’s parks. She also enjoys exploring different countries and cultures and generally likes being outdoors. Her goal in life is to continue learning and challenging herself whilst maintaining a healthy mind and body.

Over the years Matt has developed a passion for fitness and sport, both as a competitor across a range of sports, including American Football, and as an exercise professional, helping his clients move and feel better.

Matt takes pride in providing the stepping-stones to an active, healthy lifestyle through enhancing movement, strength and fitness. He has also worked with amateur and professional athletes in many challenging environments, from national sporting venues to televised events. Chrisen stumbled across Pilates as a teenager in his own living room (his mum had bought a Pilates DVD set from late night infomercials). From that day, Pilates has been a huge part of his life, joined shortly afterwards by Yoga and Barre

Melissa James
Melissa has been dancing for about as long as she could walk, starting with Tap lessons at the age of four.

Her dedication from such a young age eventually paid off as he was taken on as a professional dancer for New Zealand’s top entertainment company, Diamond. She went on to spend seven years performing with Diamond, where her credits included New Zealand’s X-Factor and The Real Housewives of Auckland, alongside numerous sporting events and music videos.

During this time, she also studied at the University of Auckland to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Dance Studies, where she focused on dance education and developed a passion to teach others.

Having spent many years swept up in the world of dance both professionally and educationally, it’s no surprise that she discovered Barre in 2014 and quickly began teaching Barre in her home country, New Zealand. Now that she’s settled into London it’s all about TenBarre.

Having previously used Pilates to support her own post injury rehab, she’s also a big advocate of it’s benefits. She’s adamant that Pilates should be a part of everybody’s fitness regime – alongside Barre, of course – and that’s why Ten is the perfect place for her to continue pass on her breadth of Barre expertise.

Whatever the workout, she believes that our bodies were made to move, and she loves helping anyone of any age, shape, ability and background find enjoyment in movement.

When she’s not teaching Barre classes at Ten, Melissa enjoys leading a busy life, which often includes soaking up West End shows, live music and dancing, of course!

Claire Carmichael
Up until a couple of years ago, Claire was a fitness ‘weekend warrior’. She spent her working day deskbound, hitting the gym in any free time that she could find, loving the feeling of escaping the daily stresses and focusing her mind on getting stronger and fitter.

Wanting a change of direction and lifestyle, Claire made the decision to turn her passion into her career, and hasn’t looked back since. She is a Level 3 qualified personal trainer, working with clients in a one on one environment, and also teaching classes to small groups of people, with a focus on fun and fitness.

Having also recently undertaken a qualification in sports massage, Claire focuses heavily on assessing and correcting poor posture caused by the pressures of modern life, while also increasing strength and fitness levels. Mobility plays a big part in her sessions – and also in my own training regime – as it is such an important factor in restoring flexibility and correct movement patterns.

Claire is an advocate of introducing weight training into everyone’s routines, as much for general health benefits as for specific strength and weight loss goals. It is essential for good form and technique, even with the smallest of weights, and for she teaches this over everything.

She has chosen to teach HIIT because she believes it’s a great way to challenge and enjoy yourself – two reasons why it always has a place in her own training schedule.

Claire is currently preparing to compete in a fitness modelling competition, so in her spare time, she can be found doing plenty of research into bodybuilding, in the gym or socialising.

Brad Emmott
Born in South Africa, raised in New Zealand and recently arrived in London, Brads’ career choice was decided at the age of 12.

Playing multiple competitive sports and pushing the limits of how many games of sport one parent should be asked to sit through in a week, Brad has always known he wanted to be in the health and fitness industry.

After finishing school he continued to further his education in the fitness industry, completing 3 certificates in fitness, before completing BSc in Sport & Exercise in 2010.

Brad’s career in health and fitness took off when he experienced how exercise could impact the lives of everyday people struggling with a health condition – an insight that changed his aim in life, from giving someone a thick chest and arms to helping people create a more holistic and long lasting approach to health in their own lives.

Brad has extensive experience as an Exercise Specialist and Personal Trainer, and has run boot camps in New Zealand. More recently – and for him much more importantly – he also spent 5 years as an Exercise Physiologist in a leading health and wellness centre. Here he worked not only with able bodied clients, but also became increasingly passionate about working with clients with a vast range of disabilities and injuries – and who couldn’t get help anywhere else.

Brad’s beliefs and approach to fitness and health is all about sustainable and lasting benefits – that means no fad diets and no 6-pack in 7 days.

In the weekends you’ll find Brad training, studying, watching rugby, snowboarding or doing backflips anywhere he can.

Lydia Cowcher
Instead of finding barre through a fitness route, Lydia came from a strong contemporary dance background while studying Dance and Culture at the University of Surrey in 2012.

Lydia’s credits include performing choreographies at Siobhan Davies Platform, Moving Oxford Platform, Decoda Dance Festival and for Greenwich Dance Agency. She also spent a year as Co-Artistic Director for the university dance company, Actual Size, choreographing and teaching contemporary movement to other students.

Since leaving university, Lydia completed her Performance MA at Chichester University and trained and toured the UK with Mapdance Company while working closely with a number of pioneering choreographers.

When Lydia isn’t teaching Barre, she works as a freelance dance teacher in schools around London and Surrey helping children to stay active and to increase their creativity through movement.

Lydia’s classes are fun but challenging. Lydia focuses as much on lengthening as strengthening throughout her classes, to help her clients to sculpt and tone their bodies.

Yolanda Calliss
Born and brought up in West London, Yolanda hated sport at school (the combination of gym kit, freezing cold parks and a lacrosse stick wasn’t really her thing).

Whilst at university, she read an article about the memory-boosting benefits of exercise, so she joined a gym, discovered a passion for fitness and got her degree into the bargain.

Health, fitness and nutrition have been a fundamental part of Yolanda’s life for the past 10 years. She started doing reformer classes 3 years ago, and liked it so much she signed up for a mat course – and has been teaching Pilates ever since.

In her own fitness routine, she likes plenty of variety. A mix of cardio classes, Dynamic Reformer Pilates and yoga keep her interested and motivated. Yolanda finds that the different disciplines compliment each other well and have made her stronger and more flexible – goals she brings to the fore in her own classes.

In spare time, she can be found in farmers’ markets, and cycling everywhere (when it’s not raining).

Zander Williams
Coming from a competitive family, Zander has loved exercise from a young age. Growing up, he took all the opportunities he could get to play numerous sports – from football to tennis, and basketball to cricket.

Naturally, fitness became an integral part of his life and after representing South East England U17s in basketball, he decided to pursue a degree in Sport and Exercise Science with the aim of furthering his sporting career and exploring the health and fitness industry.

Following his undergraduate degree, Zander went on to complete a Masters in Applied Sport and Exercise Physiology. Whilst studying, he worked as an Assistant Head of Strength and Conditioning at a private school, where he was able to apply his academic knowledge to practical sporting solutions.

Increasing his understanding of exercise prescription, recovery and nutrition led him to the conclusion that the best way to support a client’s progress is by educating them on these factors. He’s also a big fan of Pilates for both its rehabilitative and prehabilitative benefits, noting that the key principles and exercises can improve functional fitness and support the demands of day-to-day life.

His classes are upbeat, energetic and fun, and he looks to bring the best out of his clients by pushing them to better themselves. By combining this with a wealth of knowledge and technical experience, he aims for every client to leave his class with a smile on their face and one step closer to reaching their goals.

In his spare time, Zander can be found at the gym focussing on weight training to improve his personal health – and his basketball performance, of course.

Matthew Stratten
Matt is a Graduate Sports Rehabilitator (GSR) with a wide range of experience in Strength & Conditioning, Personal Training and Coaching.

Sustainability and prehabilitation have always been a key part of Matt’s training philosophy, and he takes pains to identify any imbalances or inherent weaknesses that create potential injury risk to his clients and to implement a plan to minimise them.

Over the past three years Matt has widened his experiences as a Sports Rehabilitation Therapist and Fitness Coach with clients of all ages and capabilities, from young athletes to the elderly. He has also worked with amateur and professional athletes in many challenging environments, from national sporting venues to televised events. He has also worked with Osteopaths and Massage Therapists to develop his knowledge and skills in the treatment and management of injuries.

Although Dynamic Reformer Pilates is a relatively new discipline for Matt, his unique skill set and coaching experience have set him up perfectly for this challenging and exciting step in his career. The reformer provides the perfect combination of stability, strength and movement training – principles that Matt has studied and applied as a Rehabilitation specialist and can’t wait to develop further with Ten!

Emma has always had a passion for health and exercise, and with two competitive sporting parents, she started sport from the moment she could walk. A lifetime of numerous activities including football, softball, cycling, swimming, athletics, yoga – not mention competing in the last four Ultimate Frisbee World Championships – means that she really understands the benefits of stability and flexibility for both injury management and performance.

Her love of exercise led to a BSc in Sport and Exercise at the University of Auckland. Volunteer work with Cerebral Palsy patients in her last year of University sparked a strong interest in rehabilitation for special populations and Emma realised that her passion for healthcare meant that more study was required, so she went back to University and completed a BHSc in Physiotherapy at AUT.

After graduating Emma began locum work at a Physio clinic that specialised in Pilates – the start of her journey her journey with teaching and using Pilates for rehabilitation. She joins the Ten team after 9 years honing her Physiotherapy and Pilates skills in Australia and New Zealand.

With a wealth of experience both as a clinical Physiotherapist and Pilates instructor, a strong understanding of biomechanics, functional movement patterns and injury rehabilitation, Emma brings a strong focus on posture and alignment to all her Pilates classes and training sessions.

In her spare time Emma spends as much time as possible outdoors. (Good luck with that in London, Emma!) Travelling, hiking, running, climbing and playing Ultimate Frisbee are particular favourites.

Her passion for Pilates started after working with Luke at the Chiswick studio back in 2008 as head of the front of house team (she was employee number 10 at TenPilates - which has proven to be a good omen!)
After spending the last year in Spain enhancing her physiotherapy skills she returns to London to rejoin Ten, this time as part of the training team where she belongs! Now that she has completed the TenPilates Academy, Eudelyn is looking forward to using her considerable of Pilates and injury rehabilitation skills, particularly in the field of women’s health.

Recommended as your first class with Ten or for those of you who would like to practice at a gentler pace - though it's still more than enough of a workout to get those all important endorphins going. 55 mins.

Ellen Cook
An experienced Sports Massage Therapist and Sport & Exercise Scientist, Ellen was first introduced to the world of massage as a high-level hockey player, through her own sporting injuries and regular use of massage to ease niggles, aches and pains and to relieve tight and sore muscles.

Ellen completed her training for Sports Massage in 2014 and has since worked extensively in clinics and sports teams across the country including Leeds united, the Leeds Bradford MCCU cricket team and the Canadian world cup rugby team (where she quickly learnt the benefits of using forearms and elbows to increase the pressure!).

Along the way, Ellen has been lucky enough to work with a number of leading osteopaths, physiotherapists, surgeons and clinical personal trainers to develop her knowledge and skills in the management and treatment of injuries.

She believes that sports massage isn’t just for sportspeople – in fact it’s a highly effective way to ease both occupational pain and the tensions, strains and stresses of everyday living. A key part of her work is to establish the underlying issue along with the easing pain or discomfort, and to look at the bigger picture to provide the best possible care.

A relatively recent arrival at Ten, Ellen is keen to continue to grow within the Ten team, as she continues her development into Pilates and Clinical training.

You may also see her helping out on front of house.

Ellen has been involved in sports teams her whole life and has worked her way up to competitive levels in hockey, netball, horse riding and athletics. Alongside all the sport she is a keen traveller and has recently arrived back from Thailand and Indonesia. In her spare time, Ellen is an animal fanatic who loves to use the ‘borrow my doggy’ app to walk and take care of dogs for owners who work. She is also very keen gym goer and her newfound love of Pilates means you will undoubtedly see her in classes, too.

Address the harmful impact of our deskbound modern lifestyles, restore balance, lengthen over-tight muscles, and help educate the body into a more natural set of movement patterns. Suitable for all levels.
Emily Victoria
After practising various styles of yoga for over 10 years, Emily focussed her own practice on a traditional form of hatha yoga. Over the past four years she has completed over 700 hours of teacher training in London and India. She has taught yoga, meditation and mindfulness in Sydney, India, Sri Lanka, Barbados and London.

Before becoming a full time yogini, Emily had a successful corporate legal career. She discovered yoga as a way of maintaining balance in her busy life as she progressed up the legal ranks. Having personally experienced its holistic value, Emily was drawn towards in-depth study of the ancient principles of yoga and learning how to connect the body and mind to improve physical, mental and emotional health.

Emily finds the more she practices and studies yoga, the more there is to learn about yoga, the body and the mind. She advocates the transformational possibilities that yoga can bring, both in improving strength and flexibility as well as personal growth and she is passionate about sharing this with her students.

When she’s not practicing Yoga, Emily enjoys Skiing, Kite-surfing and Body-surfing – slope and beach permitting, of course.

Robert Scholten
With a martial arts background – competing in judo, Muay Thai, boxing and MMA from the age of 10 – Rob has been involved in movement-based fitness for over 25 years. As a result, he prioritises function over form, knowing that aesthetics will come if exercise, movement patterns and nutrition are right.

An advocate of a science-based approach, Rob is constantly looking to improve his knowledge and keep up-to-date on how to most effectively improve and maintain both his and his client’s health. Fast fixes and fad diets and exercises are anathema to Rob, and he loves to demonstrate to his clients that continuous small changes to behaviour, exercise and diet bring results that last.

Having trained a wide variety of clients – from martial artists in peak condition to people recovering from injury, from actors to doctors – Rob knows that everyone has different lives and fitness requirements, and has the experience and expertise to match his approach and techniques to his clients’ needs and goals.

When he’s not training Rob likes to relax by wandering around the countryside – when he can escape the attentions of his two young sons! Occasionally (but not often enough), he enjoys indulging his gastronomic appetites in one of the many fine restaurants in and around London.

The requirements of many of her clients are to stay injury free and to compete at the highest possible level – motivating her to ensure that she delivers and effective and demonstrably goal-oriented programme. a programme that assists them in achieving their goals.

Catriona is also a physical literacy specialist coach, working with key stage 1 children within the school setting. For her of the most enjoyable aspects of working with children, is the combination of challenging ourselves to the limit without taking ourselves too seriously - an approach that she has also seen pay dividends in her Pilates classes.

In her spare time she enjoys a good strum on the guitar and is still trying to master the F chord.

Natalie France
Natalie’s Yoga journey began after moving on from 7 years of working within the world of data analysis. She was seeking a lifestyle of inner balance and needed an exercise discipline, which helped relieve stress from the body, while bringing a sense of relaxation back into her life and Yoga was the perfect answer. Natalie was hooked after her first Yoga class and would often take 3 to 4 classes a week in order to develop her ability and strength in Yoga, as well as enjoying the benefits it has on the mind and body as a whole.

Her approach to teaching Yoga is focused on encouraging students to pay attention to their own individual strengths, switching off from everyone else and taking your practice to where the body feels comfortable. The statement “I’m not flexible enough for Yoga” – something she hears too often – is an incorrect and limiting belief, and Natalie is all about overcoming the fears and obstacles that people create for themselves.

Mindset work is Natalie’s biggest passion as she is all about the mind/body connection. She spends her time exploring the deeper realms of this theme, alongside a love of travelling the world and taking time out in Meditation/Yoga retreats and workshops.

Rafael Cunha
Born and raised in Brazil, Rafael has always had a keen interest in sport and exercise, enjoying everything from football to handball, volleyball to basketball, running to capoeira and swimming to surfing.

His passion for exercise and for understanding the positive effect movement has on the human body led him to complete an undergraduate degree in Physical Education in 2008, followed by a postgraduate degree in Physiology of Exercise in 2015.

After graduating, Rafael began his career working as a personal trainer for both adults and children. Throughout his career he has also been involved in coaching and teaching a range of sports, leading capoeira groups, running social projects, organising boot camps and sports championships, and he even founded his own running group.

Believing that the human body truly is made to move, Rafael credits the skeletal system as the thing that allows us to live our lives to the maximum.

It’s this interest in musculoskeletal health that led him to train both as a Pilates instructor and study Tui Na massage, further improving his knowledge and understanding of human anatomy and in turn helping him to address muscular imbalances.

Having previously worked with people who faced hernias, disc protrusion, sciatic nerve issues, back pain and postural imbalances, Rafael enjoys helping people improve their quality of movement, overall fitness and general health.

This experience also taught him the importance of looking after our bodies, so that we can continue to live healthy and active lives without aches and pains.

Rafael takes a tailored approach to each client, understanding their needs, respecting their limitations and observing existing imbalances in the musculoskeletal system, which enables him to develop individual plans to help his clients achieve their goals. Whether that is to reduce pain and discomfort or increase tone, his programmes are developed to help clients strengthen the right muscles and restore balance.

Emil Kalinowski
Emil wasn’t always into fitness. Quite the opposite: he was seriously overweight, a heavy smoker living off Subway sandwiches and greasy chicken wings. One day he decided that he had enough of unhealthy living and signed up to the nearest gym. The results were – quite literally – transformational.

Emil not only managed to overcome his own weakness to make life-changing differences to his diet, health and body composition, but also quickly began to realize there is much more to fitness than just the physical aspect.

Emil left his comfortable work as a concierge in a 5-star hotels, traveled around Brazil and returned to London to join Ten to work as a Front of House Assistant to get a better understanding of clients needs and aspirations.

While working for Ten behind the desk, Emil was also working on his formal fitness qualifications, including Level 3 in Personal Training, L2 Fitness Instructor, Kettlebell Instructor and Suspension Training (TRX).

Today health and fitness is not just Emil’s job, it’s part of his daily life and personal success.

Passionate about helping his clients to experience what he has experienced, Emil puts a lot of emphasis on big, multi-joint movements, to make his sessions as effective and efficient as possible for anyone who is looking to get stronger, leaner and happier.

In his spare time Emil is cycling around London and trying out different fitness classes that this amazing city has to offer. From Strongman classes, through EMS (muscle contractions using electric impulses…not an experience he’ll be repeating), to Yoga, – and Pilates of course.

Originally from Venezuela, Eudelyn has a Physiotherapy degree, a qualification in Sports & Remedial Massage Therapy with the London School of Sports Massage and has also trained as a Mat Pilates Instructor with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute.
She has worked as a Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist and Pilates Instructor in London for a number of years and has a wealth of experience in treating a variety of musculo-skeletal problems, particularly back and neck issues as well as sports and repetitive strain injuries.
A calm and naturally happy person, Eudelyn enjoys travelling, trekking and dancing (not surprising really, given her Latin American roots).
