Jennifer Bentley
From a young age Jen practised various disciplines of dance, including Ballet and Tap, and also Disco dancing, where she regularly danced competitively at events across the country. The first time she experienced Pilates was during dance classes as a teen, and was intrigues from the outset.

Whilst she loved her years of dancing, she moved to Bristol aged 18 to study a BA in Primary Teaching. Despite graduating with a 2.1 degree, she quickly realised that the school classroom was not for her, and that her true passion and vocation lay in movement and fitness.

In 2010 she completed her Level 3 Personal Training qualification and since then has have worked many of London’s leading gyms and fitness studios training clients 1-1 and leading TRX and PowerPlate classes. She later went on to gain her Mat Pilates certificate.

Jen credits Pilates entirely for allowing her to regain her core strength and stability and getting her back into shape quickly after the birth of her son over 4 years ago. What she loves most about Pilates is the amount of focus needed in order to execute each exercise with control and precision. Unsurprisingly, her classes will encourage you to zone out from all other distractions so you can achieve a great mind-body connection that lets you feel each movement – and its benefits.

In her free time you will find Jen spending time with her little boy and trying out different food spots in London – she does love a naughty burger – which she will burn off later at the gym!

Alex Cohen
Alex is an accredited Exercise Physiologist and Pilates Mat and Reformer Instructor.

Following the completion of her university degree, Alex worked in a private practice alongside Physiotherapists and other Exercise Physiologists. Her role at the clinic involved the delivery of individualised exercise programs in one-on-one and group sessions, and gave her a breadth of experience helping clients with an array of musculoskeletal, neurological and cardiovascular conditions.

During her studies, Alex was introduced to Pilates and after a few sessions she was hooked. She realised the benefits of Pilates for the mind and body and this led her to complete her certification in both mat and Reformer Pilates.

Alex believes a Pilates Reformer workout is a great way to build strength and core control, whilst also improving posture, mobility and flexibility. Her classes are functional and goal-based with a clear focus on improving posture, body awareness and all-over muscle strength and tone.

In 2017 Alex decided to leave the beaches of Sydney, Australia in exchange for the exciting city of London.

In her spare time, Alex enjoys exploring new cafes and restaurants and traveling (not to mention taking regular Pilates classes!)

Isaura Johnston

Isaura started young – she has been a competitive athlete since childhood.

She has always enjoyed training hard and seeing the benefits that her hard work brought. And after 8 years’ athletic training for 100m and 400m hurdles, it seemed natural to gravitate towards the study of sports. At University, Isuara realised that as much as she loved athletics, a career in the industry was not for her, instead she discovered a passion for the study of rehabilitation and movement.

Initially Isaura’s desire for a career in fitness was driven by her competitive background and eagerness to develop a deeper understanding of how the body works in order to get stronger, faster and, ultimately, to win. But over time, her growing interest in rehabilitation led her to go on to study Sports Therapy, combining strength and muscle conditioning with therapeutic movement.

Isaura discovered Pilates at a time when her confidence and self-esteem were at a low. In need of a distraction and a challenge to help her address some unexpected health issues and to regain mental and physical strength, she discovered that Pilates bridged the gap between athletic conditioning and healthy movement, enabling her to challenge her body physically without hindering the recovery process. She quickly found that developing a deeper understanding for body awareness and Pilates methodology also had significant stress-reduction benefits, creating a feeling of mental euphoria and physical strength all in one.

In her free time, Isaura loves the theatre. And whilst she remains a diehard Pilates devotee, she still loves to train in the fresh air whenever she can; whether she’s hiking up mountains in Bali, snorkelling in Mexico, kayaking in Canada or simply cycling through London, she enjoys the stimulation of the constantly changing scenery.

A BSc Hons Sports & Exercise Science Graduate from the University of Ulster, Catriona has a lifelong passion for health and fitness and involvement in sport, having played Gaelic football for over 20 years.

It was in my latter stages of her sporting career (in her 30’s) that she discovered Pilates, its benefits enabling her to continue to compete for several years at the highest level.

Inspired by her personal experience of Pilates and its benefits, Catriona qualified as a Pilates instructor in 2013. Since then she has had the opportunity to work with clients of all age groups, from 6 -65, and with athletes from a range of different sports, including Gaelic Football, Soccer, Running and Cycling.

The requirements of many of her clients are to stay injury free and to compete at the highest possible level – motivating her to ensure that she delivers and effective and demonstrably goal-oriented programme. a programme that assists them in achieving their goals.

Catriona is also a physical literacy specialist coach, working with key stage 1 children within the school setting. For her of the most enjoyable aspects of working with children, is the combination of challenging ourselves to the limit without taking ourselves too seriously - an approach that she has also seen pay dividends in her Pilates classes.

In her spare time she enjoys a good strum on the guitar and is still trying to master the F chord.

Katie O’Neill
Katie originally trained as a dancer at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London. After graduating with a Diploma in Musical Theatre she went on to work for 8 years as a professional dancer, working and travelling all over the world.

The fitness industry was a natural progression as injury prevention and body image is an important part of a dancer’s life. Katie spent a lot of time in the gym trying to maintain her weight and overcome muscle imbalances. She was introduced to resistance training and began to see and feel a massive change in her body.

Four years into her dance career, Katie obtained her Level 3 Personal Training qualification and used it to help educate herself and her fellow dancers on the importance of resistance training and correct technique. She soon began training other dancers, creating programmes that combined resistance training, HIIT training and Pilates to help them develop strong, flexible, injury-free bodies.

She then went onto gain her indoor cycling, circuit training, GP referral Mat Pilates – and most recently Dynamic Reformer Pilates – qualifications.

Katie is excited to be part of the Ten Team and tries to bring the passion, energy and discipline of her dance background into her sessions to help promote and maintain a high level of strength, flexibility, alignment and posture.

Anser Amado
Anser has been upbeat and active from early childhood. Always keen to develop both physically and mentally, he credits his fluency in three languages (English, Spanish and Portuguese) with keeping his mind open to new influences and knowledge.

A keen footballer for many years, Anser has been passionate about exercise for as long as he can remember. Deciding to make it his career allowed him to unite his twin passions: fitness and the capability to help inspire and develop others.

With 10 years’ experience in the fitness industry, Anser specialises in strength and conditioning, weight loss, HiiT, core training, calisthenics and Reformer Pilates. He particularly enjoys bodyweight-based workouts, as he believes we should all be comfortable working with our own bodyweight before lifting weights.

His interest in Dynamic Pilates stems from understanding that the core provides the foundation for any functional movement. He soon realised the benefits it could offer for his own calisthenics training, not to mention it’s ability to help maximize performance in every any other sport or discipline.

While Anser enjoys socialising with friends and family, he’ll always ring-fence time each week to work on his own personal and fitness goals.

She has been teaching Mat, and latterly Dynamic Reformer, Pilates ever since.

Zoe is a big believer that in life and in exercise alike, with the right motivation and the right tools you can do whatever you set your mind to. To help her clients achieve their goals and ambitions, she draws from her own experience and continual training in a variety of fitness disciplines, from clients’ own experiences and journeys and, last but by no means least, from the principle that enjoyment is a fundamental part of successful learning – so expect her sense of humour to be very much to the fore.

No prior experience is necessary for this class; a basic level of fitness is helpful but not essential. Clients are introduced to the equipment, techniques and some basic exercises. Recommended as your first class with Ten or for those of you who would like to practice at a gentler pace - though it's still more than enough of a workout to get those all important endorphins going. 55 mins.
