Tue 21 November6:15pmBeginners - Dynamic Reformer Pilates
No prior experience is necessary for this class; a basic level of fitness is helpful but not essential. Clients are introduced to the equipment, techniques and some basic exercises. Recommended as your first class with Ten or for those of you who would like to practice at a gentler pace - though it's still more than enough of a workout to get those all important endorphins going. 55 mins.
Erica Foulds
Erica’s love and appreciation for both general fitness and precise movement started early, with classical ballet training. This dual passion for technique-driven exercise and a good old-fashioned workout can also is reflected in her many qualifications – she combines a degree in human communication science with qualifications in personal training, fitness instruction and indoor cycling.
Erica is equally happy helping people recover from serious injury (she has previously worked as an exercise rehab therapist in a clinical stroke rehabilitation unit) and pushing people to achieve their fitness goals (spin and gruelling outdoor fitness sessions are particular favourites of hers.)
For the majority of Erica’s career, she has worked for some of London's top financial institutions as a corporate fitness wellbeing advisor and personal trainer integrating health and fitness into the lives of the chronically time-poor.
Erica has a strong belief in the age old ‘healthy body, healthy mind’ motto and her passion is about making it available for all.
When not at the studio you can find her on a bike (with the latest Ibiza mixes keeping her on the pace) or tapping her toes to the beat at a Dalston jazz cafe.

Peter Clerkin

Originally from County Antrim, Northern Ireland, Peter has a degree in Sport and Exercise Science at Edinburgh Napier University. After graduating Peter stayed in Edinburgh working as a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer and also coached football and basketball at youth level. Peter then went on to gain a pilates qualification, and began teaching classes. In 2012, Peter moved to Seattle to coach youth soccer and teach spin, pilates, TRX, Kettlebell and high intensity interval classes.

Peter combines an insightful and client-based approach with an enduring passion for sport. He especially loves the sense of achievement that comes from completing endurance events. He has a number of, triathlons, half marathons, 10K’s under his belt, and having completed the 2012 Belfast marathon, is looking forward to the next challenge!

When not at work, Peter is a diehard film buff, and when he’s not watching them loves nothing more that to debate their merits over coffee and cake (after all, with another marathon in your sights, you need all the calories you can get).

Leah Willoughby
Leah holds a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Dance from UWL, where she also attained her Pilates Matwork qualification.

Coming from a professional dance background, core strength and the mobility of the body have always been at the forefront of her training. After finding the benefits of Pilates truly invaluable during her pregnancy, Leah’s passion for the exercise form grew, and she has been tutoring and furthering her training ever since.

Given Leah’s former career, it probably comes as no surprise that her classes focus heavily on precision of movement and postural improvement.

Leah is a strong believer in the benefits of movement and exercise both physically and mentally, whatever the body, whatever the age, whatever the lifestyle, and is on a mission to pump the world full of happy endorphins.

Outside of dynamic Pilates training, Leah can still be found teaching/attending dance classes and training in pole fitness. She also holds a 1st Dan black belt in Tae Kwon Do, so will have no trouble kicking butts of all shapes sizes and ages into shape!

Katie O’Neill
Katie originally trained as a dancer at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London. After graduating with a Diploma in Musical Theatre she went on to work for 8 years as a professional dancer, working and travelling all over the world.

The fitness industry was a natural progression as injury prevention and body image is an important part of a dancer’s life. Katie spent a lot of time in the gym trying to maintain her weight and overcome muscle imbalances. She was introduced to resistance training and began to see and feel a massive change in her body.

Four years into her dance career, Katie obtained her Level 3 Personal Training qualification and used it to help educate herself and her fellow dancers on the importance of resistance training and correct technique. She soon began training other dancers, creating programmes that combined resistance training, HIIT training and Pilates to help them develop strong, flexible, injury-free bodies.

She then went onto gain her indoor cycling, circuit training, GP referral Mat Pilates – and most recently Dynamic Reformer Pilates – qualifications.

Katie is excited to be part of the Ten Team and tries to bring the passion, energy and discipline of her dance background into her sessions to help promote and maintain a high level of strength, flexibility, alignment and posture.

“Your fitness is 100% mental. The body won’t go where the mind doesn’t push it!”

Catriona McGahan
A BSc Hons Sports & Exercise Science Graduate from the University of Ulster, Catriona has a lifelong passion for health and fitness and involvement in sport, having played Gaelic football for over 20 years.

It was in my latter stages of her sporting career (in her 30’s) that she discovered Pilates, its benefits enabling her to continue to compete for several years at the highest level.

Inspired by her personal experience of Pilates and its benefits, Catriona qualified as a Pilates instructor in 2013. Since then she has had the opportunity to work with clients of all age groups, from 6 -65, and with athletes from a range of different sports, including Gaelic Football, Soccer, Running and Cycling.

The requirements of many of her clients are to stay injury free and to compete at the highest possible level – motivating her to ensure that she delivers and effective and demonstrably goal-oriented programme. a programme that assists them in achieving their goals.

Catriona is also a physical literacy specialist coach, working with key stage 1 children within the school setting. For her of the most enjoyable aspects of working with children, is the combination of challenging ourselves to the limit without taking ourselves too seriously - an approach that she has also seen pay dividends in her Pilates classes.

In her spare time she enjoys a good strum on the guitar and is still trying to master the F chord.

Beverley Crighton
Beverley is a latecomer to teaching Pilates having spent most of her career working in the design, branding and corporate communications industry as a client director and consultant.

Although she had been very active and involved in many sports from childhood, the demands of Beverley’s corporate career became more demanding, leaving less and less time for fitness activities and the inevitable poor posture and injuries set in.

She discovered Pilates as a way to counter these issues and practised for many years. The results, and the balance of physical challenge and mental focus that her sessions provided, kept her hooked and helped her regain the strength and stability to try other activities again.

Beverley believes passionately that Pilates is the foundation for good posture and improved form in everything from everyday functional movement to excelling in sports and physical activities, and can play a massive role in rehabilitation and recovery.

She completed her Mat Pilates teaching qualifications in 2016 and switched careers straight away.

Believing it is never too late to try something new in life and Beverley gets great enjoyment and reward from teaching Pilates to clients of all ages and stages. For many of her clients, Pilates can feel like multi-tasking at the beginning, with so many things to think about. But over time the application and effort starts to bring amazing results – reinforcing Beverley’s conviction that that anything of value takes time and patience to build well.

In her spare time Beverley is very active, attending spinning and cardio-based classes. She’s also very interested in the arts and when she’s not teaching Pilates, you’re likely to find her at a gallery, immersing herself in all things creative.

Shamim Walker
Whether it was long distance running or championing her school Netball team, Shamim has always had a keen interest in sport from an early age. It’s no surprise that this passion followed her throughout life and led her to become a Personal Trainer. Growing up, she also developed an interest in Massage Therapy and began putting these into practice with her local Rugby team.

After training numerous clients with varying regimes across the world – including London, Miami, Monaco and Spain – Shamim decided that she needed a new exercise regime of her own. And with that in mind, she signed up to classes at Ten over two years ago and became positively hooked. She soon fell in love with the whole concept of Pilates and decided that teaching Pilates was what she had to pursue.

From strengthening the core to correcting muscular imbalances, Shamim also believes that it is the ideal workout for our current generation and her only regret is not discovering it sooner.

She specialises in movement analysis and she will design your workout to create balance, strength and flexibility, whilst delivering a fun and stimulating class.

Shamin is currently learning to play polo and if she’s not teaching a class then you’re most likely to find her participating in one!

Emma Davies
Emma started off her fitness journey back in 2002, teaching high impact aerobics, circuit training and studio resistance training.

After a few years of teaching intense aerobics classes, Emma began experiencing pain in her knee joints, prompting her to take a more holistic approach to fitness. It is then that she discovered her love for Pilates and she hasn’t looked back since.

After initially studying the traditional Stott Mat Pilates method with the YMCA, Emma then went on to specialise in Pilates equipment such as the Tower Reformer and the Wunda Chair.

As passionate about continual learning as she is about Pilates, Emma trained as a YMCA Pilates Tutor and Assessor for their Level 3 Mat Pilates qualification. She then went on to tutor and assess the Pilates method at The WMC Camden College.

Emma specialises in strength and conditioning, postural analysis and correction programmes, muscle imbalances and back pain, sport- specific performance training (primarily golf and tennis) and sports injuries, as well as weight loss and management.

She has been fortunate enough to take her Pilates expertise overseas and has been a Beach Bootcamp and Pilates instructor in Marbella over recent summers.

Emma spends much of her spare time using her fitness background to raise money and awareness for charities. In recent years, she has accomplished some big feats such as running the London Marathon for Medicinema and overcoming her fear of heights by climbing Ben Nevis (the highest peak in the UK, she’s keen to point out!) for Prostate Cancer UK.

Anser Amado
Anser has been upbeat and active from early childhood. Always keen to develop both physically and mentally, he credits his fluency in three languages (English, Spanish and Portuguese) with keeping his mind open to new influences and knowledge.

A keen footballer for many years, Anser has been passionate about exercise for as long as he can remember. Deciding to make it his career allowed him to unite his twin passions: fitness and the capability to help inspire and develop others.

With 10 years’ experience in the fitness industry, Anser specialises in strength and conditioning, weight loss, HiiT, core training, calisthenics and Reformer Pilates. He particularly enjoys bodyweight-based workouts, as he believes we should all be comfortable working with our own bodyweight before lifting weights.

His interest in Dynamic Pilates stems from understanding that the core provides the foundation for any functional movement. He soon realised the benefits it could offer for his own calisthenics training, not to mention it’s ability to help maximize performance in every any other sport or discipline.

While Anser enjoys socialising with friends and family, he’ll always ring-fence time each week to work on his own personal and fitness goals.

Nick Garner
Nick studied Sports Development and Physical Education at Liverpool John Moores University. During his studies, he became increasingly interested in, and passionate about, helping increase the nation’s participation in exercise after noticing how our modern western lifestyle was ruining postures and waistlines across the country.
Upon graduating, Nick also completed his diploma in Personal Training and Nutrition. During his subsequent years in the industry, Nick has worked with a range of clients, from office workers needing to trim down and tone up to novice runners taking on their first half marathon. With almost every new client there was always one constant... muscular imbalance and resultant poor posture. Ever the perfectionist, Nick joined the TenPilates Academy to enhance his skills and help people get the best out of themselves.
Nick enjoys swimming, rock climbing, boxing, and rugby (representing town and county at the latter). With his sporting background, education and successful completion of the TenPilates Academy, Nick has the desire and the skills to get you feeling and looking amazing.

Brad Emmott
Born in South Africa, raised in New Zealand and recently arrived in London, Brads’ career choice was decided at the age of 12.

Playing multiple competitive sports and pushing the limits of how many games of sport one parent should be asked to sit through in a week, Brad has always known he wanted to be in the health and fitness industry.

After finishing school he continued to further his education in the fitness industry, completing 3 certificates in fitness, before completing BSc in Sport & Exercise in 2010.

Brad’s career in health and fitness took off when he experienced how exercise could impact the lives of everyday people struggling with a health condition – an insight that changed his aim in life, from giving someone a thick chest and arms to helping people create a more holistic and long lasting approach to health in their own lives.

Brad has extensive experience as an Exercise Specialist and Personal Trainer, and has run boot camps in New Zealand. More recently – and for him much more importantly – he also spent 5 years as an Exercise Physiologist in a leading health and wellness centre. Here he worked not only with able bodied clients, but also became increasingly passionate about working with clients with a vast range of disabilities and injuries – and who couldn’t get help anywhere else.

Brad’s beliefs and approach to fitness and health is all about sustainable and lasting benefits – that means no fad diets and no 6-pack in 7 days.

In the weekends you’ll find Brad training, studying, watching rugby, snowboarding or doing backflips anywhere he can.

Dee Rawlins
Dee’s journey into fitness started at the age of 21 with Bikram Yoga after a pelvis injury opened her eyes into the importance of looking after the body. After practicing for 4-years she took her first yoga teacher training in Anusara yoga in the U.K. before continuing her education in Pre & Postnatal yoga.

Recreationally she had already started to explore the art of Qi Gong and Martial arts, leading her to move to China and learn more of these ancient disciplines.

Whilst in China, Dee took her studies at Beijing Sports University, where she studied Sports rehabilitation through Chinese massage and medicine.

Keen to broaden her knowledge even further, Dee went in search of something that was not only versatile but would complement her previous experience and skills. Pilates was the answer, and she quickly fell in love with its principles and effectiveness with a range of uses from rehabilitation and sports performance to general body conditioning and functional movement.

Dee has since trained with various different Pilates bodies and educators from Australia, Asia and America and has completed Polestar Pilates Comprehensive studio training programme and Network Pilates Australia Mat and Pre/Post natal training programme. She has over 5-years teaching experience and has recently returned back to the UK after living abroad.

To stay grounded Dee meditates daily, practices Pilates with various instructors and runs in London’s parks. She also enjoys exploring different countries and cultures and generally likes being outdoors. Her goal in life is to continue learning and challenging herself whilst maintaining a healthy mind and body.
