Ellie Jamieson
Ellie’s sport and fitness journey started young, with ballet, tap and contemporary dance training. Her belief that exercise is medicine and her passion to help people made choosing a career easy. She now holds a bachelor or science degree in sport and exercise for health from the University of Kent.

Ellie has many years of experience working in rehabilitation, specialising on clients with Parkinson’s, Stroke and Cardiovascular disease.

Every spare minute away from her rehabilitation classes was spent in the gym, where Ellie discovered to find a strong link between mind and body and its positive impact on physical strength and stamina, and mental wellbeing. As a result, she was inspired to organise sporting events and provide personal training sessions for her peers at university, as a way to help battle them combat the effects of stress, and maintain mental balance and health.

With Ellie’s experience working with many different populations, it comes naturally to her to adapt to any individual in any situation.

Naturally upbeat, positive and motivated, Ellie’s goal is to inspire everyone she comes into contact with to live a more active daily lifestyle – for her, there is nothing more important than health.

Emily Rutherwood
Emily has always had a passion for dance, fitness and wellness. She began ballet training at just 2 years old. Her passion continued to grow and she became more serious about dance as a profession.

She spent 4 years at the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology before completing her studies and vocational training at the renowned Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London.

Emily holds a First Class Honours Degree in Contemporary Dance from Laban, having written her dissertation on the prevalence and impact of injuries in female contemporary dancers. She went on to achieve a Masters Degree in Dance Performance, investigating nutrition and its affects of performance for her thesis.

During her MA, Emily was a member of Transitions Dance Company 2015 where she toured the UK and overseas.

Through her studies, Emily became fascinated with body biomechanics and body movement. Shortly after graduating, Emily qualified as a Massage Therapist (VTCT Level 3). She began her career working at a holistic practise in London. Here, she gained valuable knowledge, skills and experience with regards to the human anatomy.

Keen to put her knowledge to physical practise, Emily began teaching Barre classes, a low impact method focusing on strength, posture and mobility. This intelligent exercise method fuelled her thirst for knowledge and inspired her to qualify as a Dynamic Reformer Pilates Trainer.

Coming from a dance background, Emily’s classes focus on alignment, mobility and core stability. She encourages her clients to focus on realigning the body whilst building strength.

In her time out of the studio, Emily loves to explore and travel. She enjoys adrenaline-fuelled activities and adventures.

Joao Lobo Pina
Starting his career in sports at an early age, João has always been passionate about sports.

João was a professional football player for many years, playing at the highest levels and representing his country. Determined to keep football as part of his life, he enrolled in a Sports Science degree and went on to follow his dream of working in sports and fitness, as a personal trainer and also as a football coach.

Dedicated to helping people achieve their health and fitness goals, João was drawn to Pilates though its focus on body posture, awareness and the establishing of effective, safe movement patterns. With a postgraduate certificate in rehabilitation and injury prevention, João’s motivation comes from his ability to guide his clients to help them reach their physical goals consciously and safely.

When not at Ten or working out, João loves to travel, hang out with friends or watch a good movie.

Adam Ridler
Sport was always something Adam had a passion for, leading him to study Sports Science at university, initially focusing on strength & conditioning and performance enhancement, but quickly developing skills in other areas.

It was whilst studying that Adam’s other passion emerged, as he was introduced to rowing. He went on to become part of the Great British Lightweight development squad, enabling him to work alongside Olympic champion coaches and athletes.

Working with people to help them move well and understand their bodies is something Adam particularly enjoys. For him, what brings greatest satisfaction is working with people to overcome barriers, unlock their potential and understand what makes them feel their best brings.

Adam is a hugely experienced fitness professional. In addition to spending many years as a Personal Trainer and Dynamic Reformer Pilates instructor, he has also worked in corporate wellness, teaching employees to become more active throughout the day, and understanding both the short term performance and long term health benefits this brings.

He has also worked in the emerging and increasingly important field of Exercise as Medicine, leveraging the latest insights and data to demonstrate how exercise can be an important element in the prevention, treatment and recovery process for various illness and diseases.

By keeping an eye on the latest research and key opinions Adam believes in following the best practice and evidence based methods to continue to move forward with his skills and teaching methods.

Away from the studio Adam will most likely be found outdoors, ideally on the water, and whenever possible, competing at major national events.

Tommy Marshall
Tommy has been physically active for as long as he can remember, playing recreational to semi-professional football over the years before a back condition stopped him in his tracks.

Combining a lifelong enthusiasm for movement and activity with his love of science, Tommy took his first career step by graduating from the University of Bath with an MSci Sports and Exercise Science degree.

A postgraduate season with the first team of Bristol City Football Club gave Tommy the opportunity to lead both gym and pitch based prehab/rehab sessions as well as taking the players through their strength and conditioning programs on a one to one and group basis.

It was also this experience – good as it was – that motivated him to move away from professional football and follow a deeper passion that had developed for helping people achieve their goals through exercise. Especially when underpinned by science and research.

Tommy is a firm believer that exercise is medicine. He loves helping people meet their goals no matter how big or small – meeting any goal is a step in the right direction. He is driven and enthusiastic to help empower you to reach your full potential.

In his spare time Tommy can be found in the gym, at the London Stadium watching his beloved West Ham United (which usually ends in disappointment) or exploring a new part of the world.

Leah Willoughby
Leah holds a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Dance from UWL, where she also attained her Pilates Matwork qualification.

Coming from a professional dance background, core strength and the mobility of the body have always been at the forefront of her training. After finding the benefits of Pilates truly invaluable during her pregnancy, Leah’s passion for the exercise form grew, and she has been tutoring and furthering her training ever since.

Given Leah’s former career, it probably comes as no surprise that her classes focus heavily on precision of movement and postural improvement.

Leah is a strong believer in the benefits of movement and exercise both physically and mentally, whatever the body, whatever the age, whatever the lifestyle, and is on a mission to pump the world full of happy endorphins.

Outside of dynamic Pilates training, Leah can still be found teaching/attending dance classes and training in pole fitness. She also holds a 1st Dan black belt in Tae Kwon Do, so will have no trouble kicking butts of all shapes sizes and ages into shape!

Melissa James
Melissa has been dancing for about as long as she could walk, starting with Tap lessons at the age of four.

Her dedication from such a young age eventually paid off as he was taken on as a professional dancer for New Zealand’s top entertainment company, Diamond. She went on to spend seven years performing with Diamond, where her credits included New Zealand’s X-Factor and The Real Housewives of Auckland, alongside numerous sporting events and music videos.

During this time, she also studied at the University of Auckland to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Dance Studies, where she focused on dance education and developed a passion to teach others.

Having spent many years swept up in the world of dance both professionally and educationally, it’s no surprise that she discovered Barre in 2014 and quickly began teaching Barre in her home country, New Zealand. Now that she’s settled into London it’s all about TenBarre.

Having previously used Pilates to support her own post injury rehab, she’s also a big advocate of it’s benefits. She’s adamant that Pilates should be a part of everybody’s fitness regime – alongside Barre, of course – and that’s why Ten is the perfect place for her to continue pass on her breadth of Barre expertise.

Whatever the workout, she believes that our bodies were made to move, and she loves helping anyone of any age, shape, ability and background find enjoyment in movement.

When she’s not teaching Barre classes at Ten, Melissa enjoys leading a busy life, which often includes soaking up West End shows, live music and dancing, of course!

Hollie Smith
Hollie’s passion is helping people.
Having been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes aged 17, she has first hand experience of dealing with a life changing condition and understands the impact it can have on the individual.

Since her diagnosis, she wanted to learn more about her condition. This culminated in her turning her passion into a career, leaving the legal profession, and qualifying as a Level 3 Personal Trainer. She has since written an e-book on Type 1 Diabetes, Health and Fitness and is currently studying to be a nutritionist.

Hollie’s personal history with diabetes and her expert knowledge of the condition makes her a highly valued part of TenClinical’s specialist diabetes team. Driven to successfully help others both physically and mentally, she is passionate about the ability of expert, specific exercise prescription to manage blood sugar levels.

Hollie believes movement plays a huge role in health and understands the positive impact the correct training and nutrition has on the body and the endocrine system. She is living proof that that regular exercise can make it easier to control diabetes (especially type II), and as someone living with a Clinical condition herself she brings a particular insight, empathy and passion to her sessions.

Luke Bowen
British born Luke started his fitness career at the prestigious Champneys health spa, training and teaching fitness classes to all ages and abilities.

A qualified and experienced Personal Trainer and Pilates instructor before joining Ten, Luke originally trained in classical matwork with STOTT Pilates before adding Dynamic Reformer Pilates expertise to his repertoire through the industry-accredited TenPilates Academy.

Luke believes in making exercise and enjoyable. His motto (which we thoroughly approve of) is “Exercise gives you endorphins, endorphins make you happy”.

In his spare time Luke likes to spend time in Berlin, where he enjoys the city’s art and music scene. He is also a keen runner, and takes part in weekly 5 km park run events. At present time, Luke has a personal best of 18 minutes which he is striving to beat.

Eleftheria Anastasiadou
Born in Thessaloniki, Greece, Eleftheria started ballet when she was 3 and since hasn’t stopped since.

Since then, her limitless passion for dance has led her to explore more styles including hip-hop, commercial, experimental, contemporary, and to train in aerial hoop, silks and rope. It also inspired her to travel around the world to take professional workshops with famous choreographers such as Hofesch Schetcher, Wayne McGrecor, Chazz Buzzan, Zoi Tatopoulos, and to work in some great theatrical performances, art exhibitions and dance projects.

Eleftheria’s journey to fitness started when she decided to study Sports Science and develop her knowledge of the human body and sports performance. In the last year of her studies, she was awarded a full scholarship in one of the best region’s fitness academies, working next and learning from some of the to leading fitness personalities in Greece.

After 2 years teaching in top health & fitness clubs and dance schools, Eleftheria came to London to do a masters in Dance Science in Trinity Laban.

Eleftheria believes that with the correct mindset, and positive people and influences around you, anything is possible – physically and in life generally.

She is currently undertaking the Comprehensive Pilates teaching diploma from Balance Body along with UKSCA’s the strength and conditioning coaching qualification.

At the same time, she takes dance classes around London keeps her training up to date with all the UK leading choreographers. Any time she is not teaching you will find her trying new body shapes and dance movements in the mirrors.

At Ten, you will find Eleftheria teaching Dynamic Pilates reformer, TenHiiT, TenYoga, TenBarre and TenRX classes.
