Sun 16 March2:00pmIntermediate to Advanced - Dynamic Reformer Pilates Transition Class
An upbeat and energising session, ideal for Intermediate clients keen to try the extra challenge that our Advanced Classes offer, but unsure about what to expect. It’s also a great reintroduction for Advanced clients coming back after some time off. It’s a little slower-paced than a regular Advanced Class (though you’ll still challenge yourself and raise a sweat). We’ll focus on optimal form and technique, along with an introduction to some new advanced level exercises, and next-level progressions of familiar routines.
Sydney Lartey
Sydney has been actively involved in the world of health & fitness since the age of 6, from participating in Martial arts, to football and athletics. Running 100m, 110m hurdle, 200m and 4x100m relay in athletics for the Merton region and playing in multiple football teams such as Oakway Royals, Epsom and Ewell, winning club top scorer in his debut season.

With over a decade of training experience Sydney took up life as a PT after his father fell ill due to poor eating habits.

Since then, he has gained multiple certifications and proudly led several athletes to breaking and holding multiple British, European and world powerlifting records, including a successful defence of the world title in July 2022.

After suffering a back injury in a cycling accident, Sydney became obsessed with human movement and how each of our body parts are connected to each other through movement. Believing firmly in applying science to every aspect of training to maximise potential results and minimise injury risk, naturally Sydney’s motto became; Better Movement, Better Performance.

Sydney takes both a practical and theoretical scientific approach to assess his clients and structure suitable training programs. His programs are progressive to allow for gradual increments in load, and dynamic to enable changes to be made when needed.

In addition to his health & fitness qualifications, Sydney also has a Diploma in Applied Science & Medical Science, from Kingston college. In between his busy training schedules, you can rely on this PT being up to date with a multitude of sports from Football, Formula One, Rugby, Tennis, Bodybuilding, Strongman, and many more. He also enjoys long walks and deep conversations about life’s mysteries.

A step up in pace and intensity, and definitely not for first-timers. Expect a varied and challenging workout with more functional progressions and an emphasis firmly on effort and results.
Adam Ridler
Sport was always something Adam had a passion for, leading him to study Sports Science at university, initially focusing on strength & conditioning and performance enhancement, but quickly developing skills in other areas.

It was whilst studying that Adam’s other passion emerged, as he was introduced to rowing. He went on to become part of the Great British Lightweight development squad, enabling him to work alongside Olympic champion coaches and athletes.

Working with people to help them move well and understand their bodies is something Adam particularly enjoys. For him, what brings greatest satisfaction is working with people to overcome barriers, unlock their potential and understand what makes them feel their best brings.

Adam is a hugely experienced fitness professional. In addition to spending many years as a Personal Trainer and Dynamic Reformer Pilates instructor, he has also worked in corporate wellness, teaching employees to become more active throughout the day, and understanding both the short term performance and long term health benefits this brings.

He has also worked in the emerging and increasingly important field of Exercise as Medicine, leveraging the latest insights and data to demonstrate how exercise can be an important element in the prevention, treatment and recovery process for various illness and diseases.

By keeping an eye on the latest research and key opinions Adam believes in following the best practice and evidence based methods to continue to move forward with his skills and teaching methods.

Away from the studio Adam will most likely be found outdoors, ideally on the water, and whenever possible, competing at major national events.

No prior experience is necessary for this class; a basic level of fitness is helpful but not essential. Clients are introduced to the equipment, techniques and some basic exercises. Recommended as your first class with Ten or for those of you who would like to practice at a gentler pace - though it's still more than enough of a workout to get those all important endorphins going.

Annaliese van Schouwen (physio)
Annaliese graduated from Griffith University Australia with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, having received the Griffith Award for Academic Excellence for each year of her studies. Growing up, Annaliese admired how her grandmother, who has 52 years of knowledge as a physiotherapist (and still going!), was able to use her knowledge and skills to help others

Since graduating, Annaliese has gained experience working in a private practice setting working alongside a multidisciplinary team in Brisbane, Australia. Annaliese also has experience working with Indigenous Australian communities in rural Queensland to help develop health literacy and develop the physiotherapy programs in these areas. She is also dry needling and acupuncture certified.

Annaliese believes that everyone deserves to live a prosperous, healthy lifestyle where they are able to move well and pain-free so they are able to engage in activities that are meaningful to them. This starts with a thorough assessment, closely followed by a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses not only the symptoms but the root cause of the problem. Annaliese firmly believes that exercise is medicine and is passionate about keeping you doing the things that you want to – whether at work or play.

With a keen eye for travel, Annaliese made the move over to the UK in early 2023 to continue developing her skills in the private setting. She hopes to deliver an optimal standard of care to her patients to help them achieve their goals and get them back to the things they enjoy. Outside of the clinic Annaliese enjoys an active lifestyle and exploring new places!

Antonia Wilks (physio)
Toni has recently moved to London from New Zealand where she attended the University of Otago and graduated with Distinction in a Bachelor of Physiotherapy.

Since graduating, Toni has enjoyed working in some of the best private practices in her hometown of Auckland. She has worked with a variety of clientele including high performing athletes, people recovering from musculoskeletal surgeries, children, and people wanting to get back to their normal fitness routines.

In 2021 Toni began working in a predominantly pelvic health clinic and has since undergone numerous courses to continue to develop her skills in treating pelvic floor dysfunctions. Along with musculoskeletal and sports injuries, Toni can help with pregnancy, pelvic pain, incontinence, menopause, pelvic organ prolapse and men’s health issues.

Toni has undertaken additional training in male pelvic floor examination and treatment and uses a holistic approach to treat the sensitive and often debilitating symptoms that men often present with.

In both musculoskeletal and pelvic health physiotherapy, Toni is passionate about empowering her clients through education to ensure they have the best understanding of their own injuries and self-management. She implements a combination of manual therapy, massage, dry needling and exercise prescription. This collaborative approach allows for a rehab program that can be suited to the lifestyle and goals of the client in order to achieve the best results possible.

Toni’s previous role included working in a prestigious school, where she helped manage sports injuries in the top rugby, football & basketball teams, as well as treating many common injuries related to adolescence, such as sever’s disease, osgood-schlatters and patellofemoral pain syndrome.

In her free time she enjoys staying fit by jogging and going to the gym and has exciting plans for her time at Ten Health and Fitness. She’ll also be spending some time travelling around Europe and the UK with her partner Phil.

Toni’s previous role included working in a prestigious school, where she helped manage sports injuries in the top rugby, football & basketball teams, as well as treating many common injuries related to adolescence, such as sever’s disease, osgood-schlatters and patellofemoral pain syndrome.

Sun 23 March2:00pmIntermediate to Advanced - Dynamic Reformer Pilates Transition Class
