Whist working as a professional dancer, Zoe’s Pilates practice supported her through a physically demanding schedule of 8 shows a week and helped her manage a series of severe repetitive strain injuries for years. Her trust and first hand experience of the positive health and wellbeing benefits of Pilates led her to train as a Pilates Instructor.

 

Zoe is a certified Level 3 Mat Pilates Instructor, a Reformer Pilates Instructor and a qualified Classical Ballet Teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance. She has taught Pilates and Classical Ballet both the UK and Singapore.

 

An avid learner and teacher, Zoe exudes positivity in her classes and is dedicated to supporting her clients to become the strongest, agile and most confident athletes they can be. She works hard to ensure that each session combines variety, individual support and progression, within in a safe and holistic atmosphere.

Recommended as your first class with Ten or for those of you who would like to practice at a gentler pace - though it's still more than enough of a workout to get those all important endorphins going. 55 mins.

Born in South Africa, raised in New Zealand and recently arrived in London, Brads’ career choice was decided at the age of 12.

Playing multiple competitive sports and pushing the limits of how many games of sport one parent should be asked to sit through in a week, Brad has always known he wanted to be in the health and fitness industry.

After finishing school he continued to further his education in the fitness industry, completing 3 certificates in fitness, before completing BSc in Sport & Exercise in 2010.

Brad’s career in health and fitness took off when he experienced how exercise could impact the lives of everyday people struggling with a health condition – an insight that changed his aim in life, from giving someone a thick chest and arms to helping people create a more holistic and long lasting approach to health in their own lives.

Brad has extensive experience as an Exercise Specialist and Personal Trainer, and has run boot camps in New Zealand. More recently – and for him much more importantly – he also spent 5 years as an Exercise Physiologist in a leading health and wellness centre. Here he worked not only with able bodied clients, but also became increasingly passionate about working with clients with a vast range of disabilities and injuries – and who couldn’t get help anywhere else.

London’s first Reformer-based stretch class, TenStretch, uses one the most versatile pieces of exercise equipment available, to enable a deeper, more effective stretch than you could achieve unassisted. Although the class will improve all-round flexibility and mobility, we place specific focus on the problem areas and muscle groups most adversely affected by the muscular imbalances and postural challenges of 21st century living.

Danilo Caruso
Originally from the beautiful island of Sicily, Danilo has been a devotee of sport and exercise since (almost) as long as he could walk.

He began at just 3 years old, practicing Judo with his Aunt (a multiple world champion) and then trying has hand at a variety of sports before discovering dance at 14.

Danilo’s hobby became his profession, as he passed the audition for one of the most prestigious arts universities in Europe, Codarts, in Holland, before moving to the UK, where he graduated from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. (As a Postgraduate, he also won the prize for best achievement of the year in 2012.)

After his graduation Danilo worked as a professional dancer for a number of leading national and international choreographers. He danced as lead performer for the National Theatre, as well performing at the Royal Opera House and Sadler’s Wells, both in London and in their UK tours.

He has always used Pilates as a base for his training, having discovered that it was the most efficient way to prevent injuries. After gaining his Matt Pilates qualification, he decided to combine his Pilates knowledge with the benefits of his dance experience and understanding of body awareness, muscle isolation and proprioception by teaching Pilates to professional dancers.

Brad Emmott
Born in South Africa, raised in New Zealand and recently arrived in London, Brads’ career choice was decided at the age of 12.

Playing multiple competitive sports and pushing the limits of how many games of sport one parent should be asked to sit through in a week, Brad has always known he wanted to be in the health and fitness industry.

After finishing school he continued to further his education in the fitness industry, completing 3 certificates in fitness, before completing BSc in Sport & Exercise in 2010.

Brad’s career in health and fitness took off when he experienced how exercise could impact the lives of everyday people struggling with a health condition – an insight that changed his aim in life, from giving someone a thick chest and arms to helping people create a more holistic and long lasting approach to health in their own lives.

Brad has extensive experience as an Exercise Specialist and Personal Trainer, and has run boot camps in New Zealand. More recently – and for him much more importantly – he also spent 5 years as an Exercise Physiologist in a leading health and wellness centre. Here he worked not only with able bodied clients, but also became increasingly passionate about working with clients with a vast range of disabilities and injuries – and who couldn’t get help anywhere else.

Brad’s career in health and fitness took off when he experienced how exercise could impact the lives of everyday people struggling with a health condition – an insight that changed his aim in life, from giving someone a thick chest and arms to helping people create a more holistic and long lasting approach to health in their own lives.

Brad has extensive experience as an Exercise Specialist and Personal Trainer, and has run boot camps in New Zealand. More recently – and for him much more importantly – he also spent 5 years as an Exercise Physiologist in a leading health and wellness centre. Here he worked not only with able bodied clients, but also became increasingly passionate about working with clients with a vast range of disabilities and injuries – and who couldn’t get help anywhere else.

Jennifer Bentley

Born and raised in Brazil, Rafael has always had a keen interest in sport and exercise, enjoying everything from football to handball, volleyball to basketball, running to capoeira and swimming to surfing.

After graduating, Rafael began his career working as a personal trainer for both adults and children. It’s this interest in musculoskeletal health that led him to train both as a Pilates instructor and study Tui Na massage, further improving his knowledge and understanding of human anatomy and in turn helping him to address muscular imbalances.

 

Having previously worked with people who faced hernias, disc protrusion, sciatic nerve issues, back pain and postural imbalances, Rafael enjoys helping people improve their quality of movement, overall fitness and general health.

Whilst she loved her years of dancing, she moved to Bristol aged 18 to study a BA in Primary Teaching. Despite graduating with a 2.1 degree, she quickly realised that the school classroom was not for her, and that her true passion and vocation lay in movement and fitness.

In 2010 she completed her Level 3 Personal Training qualification and since then has have worked many of London’s leading gyms and fitness studios training clients 1-1 and leading TRX and PowerPlate classes. She later went on to gain her Mat Pilates certificate.

Danilo Caruso
Originally from the beautiful island of Sicily, Danilo has been a devotee of sport and exercise since (almost) as long as he could walk.

He began at just 3 years old, practicing Judo with his Aunt (a multiple world champion) and then trying has hand at a variety of sports before discovering dance at 14.

Danilo’s hobby became his profession, as he passed the audition for one of the most prestigious arts universities in Europe, Codarts, in Holland, before moving to the UK, where he graduated from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. (As a Postgraduate, he also won the prize for best achievement of the year in 2012.)

After his graduation Danilo worked as a professional dancer for a number of leading national and international choreographers. He danced as lead performer for the National Theatre, as well performing at the Royal Opera House and Sadler’s Wells, both in London and in their UK tours.

He has always used Pilates as a base for his training, having discovered that it was the most efficient way to prevent injuries. After gaining his Matt Pilates qualification, he decided to combine his Pilates knowledge with the benefits of his dance experience and understanding of body awareness, muscle isolation and proprioception by teaching Pilates to professional dancers.

Danilo’s passion to share his knowledge and insights with a wider audience led him to join the Training team at Ten.

Danilo Caruso
Originally from the beautiful island of Sicily, Danilo has been a devotee of sport and exercise since (almost) as long as he could walk.

He began at just 3 years old, practicing Judo with his Aunt (a multiple world champion) and then trying has hand at a variety of sports before discovering dance at 14.

Danilo’s hobby became his profession, as he passed the audition for one of the most prestigious arts universities in Europe, Codarts, in Holland, before moving to the UK, where he graduated from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. (As a Postgraduate, he also won the prize for best achievement of the year in 2012.)

After his graduation Danilo worked as a professional dancer for a number of leading national and international choreographers. He danced as lead performer for the National Theatre, as well performing at the Royal Opera House and Sadler’s Wells, both in London and in their UK tours.

He has always used Pilates as a base for his training, having discovered that it was the most efficient way to prevent injuries. After gaining his Matt Pilates qualification, he decided to combine his Pilates knowledge with the benefits of his dance experience and understanding of body awareness, muscle isolation and proprioception by teaching Pilates to professional dancers.

Danilo’s passion to share his knowledge and insights with a wider audience led him to join the Training team at Ten.

Jennifer Bentley
From a young age Jen practised various disciplines of dance, including Ballet and Tap, and also Disco dancing, where she regularly danced competitively at events across the country. The first time she experienced Pilates was during dance classes as a teen, and was intrigues from the outset.

Whilst she loved her years of dancing, she moved to Bristol aged 18 to study a BA in Primary Teaching. Despite graduating with a 2.1 degree, she quickly realised that the school classroom was not for her, and that her true passion and vocation lay in movement and fitness.

In 2010 she completed her Level 3 Personal Training qualification and since then has have worked many of London’s leading gyms and fitness studios training clients 1-1 and leading TRX and PowerPlate classes. She later went on to gain her Mat Pilates certificate.

Jen credits Pilates entirely for allowing her to regain her core strength and stability and getting her back into shape quickly after the birth of her son over 4 years ago. What she loves most about Pilates is the amount of focus needed in order to execute each exercise with control and precision. Unsurprisingly, her classes will encourage you to zone out from all other distractions so you can achieve a great mind-body connection that lets you feel each movement – and its benefits.

In her free time you will find Jen spending time with her little boy and trying out different food spots in London – she does love a naughty burger – which she will burn off later at the gym!

Katie O’Neill

Katie O’Neill
Katie originally trained as a dancer at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London. After graduating with a Diploma in Musical Theatre she went on to work for 8 years as a professional dancer, working and travelling all over the world.

The fitness industry was a natural progression as injury prevention and body image is an important part of a dancer’s life. Katie spent a lot of time in the gym trying to maintain her weight and overcome muscle imbalances. She was introduced to resistance training and began to see and feel a massive change in her body.

Four years into her dance career, Katie obtained her Level 3 Personal Training qualification and used it to help educate herself and her fellow dancers on the importance of resistance training and correct technique. She soon began training other dancers, creating programmes that combined resistance training, HIIT training and Pilates to help them develop strong, flexible, injury-free bodies.

She then went onto gain her indoor cycling, circuit training, GP referral Mat Pilates – and most recently Dynamic Reformer Pilates – qualifications.

No prior experience is necessary for this class; a basic level of fitness is helpful but not essential. Clients are introduced to the equipment, techniques and some basic exercises. Recommended as your first class with Ten or for those of you who would like to practice at a gentler pace - though it's still more than enough of a workout to get those all important endorphins going. 55 mins.

Zoe Adkin
Zoe attended London Studio Centre; University of the Arts London, where she gained a Bachelor of Arts degree. She went on to work with West End and Broadway choreographers, in London and toured nationally in several musicals, including a number of box office smashes.
 

Whist working as a professional dancer, Zoe’s Pilates practice supported her through a physically demanding schedule of 8 shows a week and helped her manage a series of severe repetitive strain injuries for years. Her trust and first hand experience of the positive health and wellbeing benefits of Pilates led her to train as a Pilates Instructor.

 

Zoe is a certified Level 3 Mat Pilates Instructor, a Reformer Pilates Instructor and a qualified Classical Ballet Teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance. She has taught Pilates and Classical Ballet both the UK and Singapore.

 

An avid learner and teacher, Zoe exudes positivity in her classes and is dedicated to supporting her clients to become the strongest, agile and most confident athletes they can be. She works hard to ensure that each session combines variety, individual support and progression, within in a safe and holistic atmosphere.

 

Zoe believes that Pilates is the ultimate form of exercise to help strengthen, lengthen and tone the body, whilst also being an invaluable tool to help with rehabilitation and injury prevention.

 

Her combination of training in Pilates and Classical Ballet gives her the ability to identifying postural issues by breaking down and analysing movement in detail. Zoe is passionate about helping clients improve functional movement habits and body awareness, and seeing them gain conscious control of all movements, with sustainable effects.

 

“Pilates is the complete coordination of body, mind and spirit,” wrote Joseph Pilates. A committed advocate of this philosophy, and passionate about its benefits to improve overall health, Zoe is driven to share her love for movement and to educate people that Pilates is for everyone, at any stage of life.

 

In her free time Zoe loves to travel, read, dance and be with family and friends. An enthusiastic sportsperson, she enjoys Netball, Tennis, Body Combat, HiiT, Pilates and Yoga classes. She also adores animals.
