Eleonora Sansoni (Osteo)
Registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC)

Eleonora’s training in rehabilitative care progressed from her original training as an exercise instructor and Pilates trainer (she has ten years experience as a Pilates instructor, with specialist training in Pilates for pregnancy).

She qualified as a Physiotherapist in Italy, where she gained a diploma in Physical Therapy and worked at the highly respected Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy Institute in Italy for five years.

Whilst in Italy she also qualified in the Mezieres method of Physiotherapy (a whole body approach that focuses on restoring the patient’s function and pain free movement through specific postural techniques; designed to elongate the posterior myofascial chain and encourage neutral spine alignment).

Eleonora then spent a year in Australia working as a Pilates Instructor and also as a Physiotherapist for South Melbourne Women’s Football Club.

In 2012 she relocated to London where she graduated from the British School of Osteopathy with a Masters in Osteopathy, and then went on to complete a postgraduate course in Traditional Osteopathic methods. The philosophy behind this classical osteopathic technique is to treat the patient as a whole and to enable the body to restore homeostasis in order to promote health and reduce pain.

Unsurprisingly, Eleonora has a holistic approach to treatment. She seeks to identify and treat the cause of the presenting problem, rather than focusing only on relieving the symptoms. She has a breadth of experience treating a wide range of conditions, from sport injuries to chronic complaints and uses mainly hands-on techniques, although treatment can involve lifestyle advice and exercise to address maintaining factors. She has a particular interest in treating the spine as a means to enhance function to the other areas of the body.

SooHui Chia
SooHui’s Pilates journey started 10 years ago when she was living in Hong Kong. On first trying it, she fell in love with the power of Pilates to change the body and the mind. She loved how Pilates opened a whole new world of muscle and body awareness that complemented all her other physical activities – running, swimming, scuba diving and tennis.

It was then she decided she had to make Pilates an indispensable part of her life. Living and training in culturally diverse cities as Singapore, New York, Hong Kong, Sydney, Shanghai, and now London, she has pursued her vision to make the philosophy and the practice of Pilates the defining characteristic of her life.

She aims to make a difference to people’s lives by creating positive and pain-free movement experiences in a safe environment that will encourage them to never stop moving and subsequently lead happier and healthier lifestyles.

Through her experiences in teaching mat, studio and reformer classes around various studios in London, she has found that very often, clients equate movement to pain, especially when they experience muscle imbalance or an injury. As a result, they can become nervous – even fearful – of movement, which easily spirals into physical deconditioning.

She strives to work with clients, especially on an individual basis, to identify their needs, and equip them with the confidence and capability to help them execute personalised movement strategies built on correct body alignment and muscle recruitment, working towards a pain-free and happy existence.

When SooHui is not practicing Pilates or engaging in one of her favorite physical past-times, she loves to travel and experience different cultures, documenting both her travel adventures and her Pilates experiences in her blog (PilatesStories.com) and on Instagram (@soohui, @pilatesstories).

Lucy Threlfall (Physio/Pilates)
After completing her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of South Australia, Lucy went on to complete further postgraduate training in Pilates. Having spent several years teaching Pilates in a clinical setting, she has a strong focus on technique and control, and an appreciation for the role Pilates can play in injury prevention, rehabilitation and improving function and performance.

Lucy takes a holistic approach to health and is passionate about the improved strength, mobility, control and body awareness that Pilates brings, and the way these benefits can flow on to other aspects of life. She believes in the rewards of Pilates not only for those recovering from injury, but for overall fitness, health and well-being.

Antonio De La Fe Guedes
Antonio had already trained as a Physiotherapist in Spain before he started to train as a professional dancer. During this time he also completed his Pilates training in 2003, focusing on using Pilates both as a rehabilitation tool and as a bridge between his dance and physiotherapy practice.

Whilst working as a Pilates instructor from 2003 and 2005 in Madrid Antonio studied contemporary dance at the Royal Professional Dance Conservatoire (Mariemma) in Madrid in 2005. Thereafter he moved to London to undertake a more intense dance training programme, completing a Cert HE and an MA at the London Contemporary Dance School.

He joined Little Venice team in 2008, and continues to work as a professional dancer and choreographer (winning a number of scholarships and awards along the way).

As well as bringing his backgrounds in physiotherapy and dance, into his Pilates teaching, Antonio is interested in mental imagery, mindfulness and body awareness as tools for repatterning movement.

His approach not only makes the Pilates repertoire more accessible, even to the least experienced clients, but also allows him to adapt it to match each individual client’s needs.

Antonio loves working with the simplest exercises in the Reformer yet exploring them in depth. He also loves the possibilities that the Little Venice equipment offers – particularly the Cadillac – for working on spinal mobilisation and flexibility.

Antonio is fluent in English and Spanish.
