FAQs

Still have questions? Read our full FAQs or contact our team, and we'll be happy to assist

  • What services does Ten offer?

We’re best known as London’s original Dynamic Reformer Pilates studio, and for our leading Physiotherapy service.

Alongside Dynamic Reformer Pilates, we offer Pelvic Health Physiotherapy, Massage Therapy, Personal Training, Clinical Exercise Prescription and Classical Equipment Pilates. Our Kings cross studio also features Cryotherapy and Infrared Sauna, giving clients access to a unique integrated approach to health and wellbeing all under one roof.

Everything we do is delivered by expert practitioners, working collaboratively to help you move better, feel stronger and live well for longer.

  • Is Dynamic Reformer Pilates right for me?

Dynamic Reformer Pilates is suitable for most people, whether you’re completely new to Pilates, returning after a break, managing an injury, or simply looking to move and feel better.

Our classes focus on strength, mobility, control and technique, rather than pushing intensity for its own sake. That means you’ll get a challenging workout that’s also supportive, mindful and sustainable - physically and mentally.

If you’re unsure where to start, our intro offers and beginner-friendly classes are designed to ease you in safely and confidently.

  • What are the benefits of Reformer Pilates?

Dynamic Reformer Pilates is one of the most effective ways to build strength, improve posture and support long-term joint health.

Clients often come to us for the physical benefits; improved core strength, mobility, balance and muscular endurance, and stay for the mental clarity, focus and sense of balance it brings to their week.

It’s low impact, highly adaptable and led by expert instructors who prioritise quality of movement, making it suitable across life stages and fitness levels.

  • It is my first time at Ten, where should I start?

If you’re new to Ten, we always recommend starting with one of our intro offers. They’re designed to help you experience our classes, studios and teaching style, while offering excellent value.

Choose your preferred studio, explore the timetable, and book a class that suits your schedule. Once you’ve booked, we’ll guide you through everything you need to know before you arrive.

If you have an injury, ongoing pain or specific concerns, we may recommend starting with a Physiotherapy or 1:1 session before joining group classes.

  • Do I need a membership to book classes?

No, there’s no joining fee and no obligation to commit.

We offer a range of flexible pricing options, including pay-as-you-go, class packs and rolling monthly memberships. You’re free to choose what works best for you.

That said, memberships and block bookings offer the best value per class and are ideal if you plan to train regularly.

  • What memberships do you offer, and what’s the benefit?

Our Pilates memberships are designed to reward consistency.

    They offer:

    - Best value per class price, compared to PAYG

    - Priority access to bookings

    - A regular training rhythm that supports progress and results

Memberships run on a rolling monthly basis, making them flexible while still helping you build Pilates into your routine, whether that’s once a week or several times.

  • What are the key terms of Pilates memberships?

Pilates memberships are rolling monthly, with a minimum commitment period (details shown at purchase).

Classes included in your membership refresh monthly and are intended to be used within that billing period. Full terms, including cancellation notice periods and usage rules are clearly outlined in our terms & conditions, so there are no surprises.

If you’re unsure which option is right for you, our studio teams are always happy to help.

  • How big are your Pilates classes?

Our Dynamic Reformer Pilates studios typically have between 8 and 11 reformer beds.

That means classes feel personal, with instructors able to give meaningful cues, corrections and support, while still benefiting from the energy of training in a small group.

  • Where are Ten studios located?

We currently have 10 studios across London, including:

King’s Cross, Nine Elms, St James’s, Fitzrovia, Hatton Garden, Liverpool Street (City), Notting Hill, Notting Hill Gate, Little Venice and Chiswick.

Each studio offers a premium, welcoming environment with consistent teaching standards and expert teams across all locations.

  • When are Ten studios open?

All Ten studios are open 7 days a week.

Classes run daily at a range of times and levels, from early mornings through to evenings. Some studios operate a slightly reduced timetable at weekends.

Peak times; mornings, lunchtimes, evenings and weekends, which tend to book up quickly, so we recommend booking in advance.

  • Can I use my classes at different Ten studios?

Yes. Most blocks and memberships can be used across our London studios, giving you flexibility if you live or work in different areas.

We do not offer our larger (8+) group Dynamic reformer classes at our Little Venice Pilates Studio. All other studios are eligible.

FAQ

GOT QUESTIONS?
WE’VE GOT ANSWERS!

FAQs

Still have questions? Read our full FAQs or contact our team, and we'll be happy to assist

  • What is Classical Equipment Pilates?

Classical Equipment Pilates follows the original Pilates method, using a range of traditional apparatus including the Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Barrels.

At Ten, Classical Pilates is delivered as a highly personalised, precision-led practice, with a strong focus on technique, alignment and controlled progression. It’s ideal for clients who want a deeper, more individual approach to Pilates, whether for rehabilitation, long-term movement health or refined performance.

  • How is Classical Pilates different from Dynamic Reformer Pilates?

Dynamic Reformer Pilates is class-based, flowing and athletic, designed to support strength, mobility and mental wellbeing in a group setting.

    Classical Equipment Pilates is:

    - Slower and more precise

    - Highly individualised

    - Progressed systematically, exercise by exercise

Sessions are either 1:1, 2:1 or very small group, allowing for close supervision and tailored programming. Many clients use Classical Pilates alongside Dynamic Reformer classes or Physiotherapy as part of a broader, integrated approach.

  • Do I need an assessment before starting Classical Pilates?

Yes. An introductory assessment is required before taking part in any Classical Equipment Pilates sessions or classes.

    This allows us to:

    - Understand your movement history, goals and any injuries

    - Assess how your body moves

    - Create a safe, appropriate starting point for your Pilates practice

It ensures you get the most from every session, and that your programme supports you properly from day one.

  • Where is Classical Equipment Pilates available?

Classical Equipment Pilates is available at the following studios:

    - Notting Hill

    - King’s Cross

    - Little Venice

Small group classes are currently available at King’s Cross and Little Venice only.

  • What’s the difference between Trainer and Master Trainer sessions?

Both Trainers and Master Trainers are highly qualified Classical Pilates specialists.

    A Master Trainer has:

    - More extensive experience

    - Advanced training and clinical exposure

    - Particular expertise working with complex needs or long-term conditions

If you’re managing an injury, returning to movement after a long break, or looking for very detailed technical progression, a Master Trainer may be the right choice, however both options deliver the same high standard of care.

  • What is 1:1 Classical Pilates best for?

1:1 sessions offer the most bespoke Classical Pilates experience.

    They’re ideal if you:

    - Are working with pain, injury or physical limitations

    - Want a fully personalised programme

    - Prefer focused, uninterrupted attention

    - Are using Pilates as part of rehabilitation or clinical care

We offer intro packs, single sessions and discounted blocks to support both new and regular clients.

  • What is 2:1 Classical Pilates?

2:1 Pilates allows two clients to train together with one instructor.

You don’t need to bring a partner, we’ll pair you with someone of a similar level and needs following your assessment.

    It offers:

    - A more personal experience than group classes

    - Better value than 1:1 sessions

    - Continued individual attention and progression

It’s a popular option for clients who want consistency, accountability and value.

  • Are there Classical Pilates group classes?

Yes, we offer small group Classical Equipment Pilates classes, with very limited numbers to maintain quality and individual attention.

    These classes:

    - Follow the Classical method

    - Require an assessment before joining

    - Are suitable once you’re familiar with the equipment and fundamentals

They’re ideal for clients who want a structured, technique-led practice in a supportive group environment.

  • How long do session packs last?

Session packs come with a clear expiry period, shown at the point of purchase.

For example, 10-session packs are valid for 8 weeks, encouraging regular practice and consistent progress. This helps ensure you get the full benefit of Classical Pilates rather than spacing sessions too far apart.

  • Can I combine Classical Pilates with other Ten services?

    Absolutely, and many clients do.

Classical Pilates works particularly well alongside:

    - Physiotherapy

    - Pelvic Health Physiotherapy

    - Dynamic Reformer Pilates

    - Personal Training

Our teams work collaboratively, allowing your Pilates practice to support your wider health, fitness and rehabilitation goals.

  • Is Classical Equipment Pilates suitable for beginners?

Yes, provided you complete the introductory assessment first.

You don’t need prior Pilates experience. Sessions are built around where you are now, not where you think you should be. Progress is gradual, supported and tailored to your body.

FAQs

Still have questions? Read our full FAQs or contact our team, and we'll be happy to assist

  • What is Physiotherapy at Ten?

Physiotherapy at Ten goes far beyond treating symptoms.

Our expert Physiotherapists assess how your whole body moves, identify the root cause of pain or limitation, and create a personalised treatment plan to help you recover, move better and stay well long term.

Treatment may include hands-on therapy, movement retraining, strength work and guided exercises, all delivered with a focus on sustainable progress, not quick fixes.

  • What conditions can Physiotherapy help with?

Physiotherapy can help with a wide range of issues, including:

    • Back, neck and joint pain
    • Sports and training-related injuries
    • Postural or movement-related problems
    • Recovery after surgery or injury
    • Long-standing or recurring pain

Many clients also use Physiotherapy proactively (Prehab), to address niggles early, support training, or maintain mobility and resilience as they age.

  • Do I need a referral to see a Physiotherapist?

No. You don’t need a GP referral to book Physiotherapy at Ten.

You can book directly, and if required, we can liaise with other healthcare professionals as part of your care.

  • Can I book physio with my health insurance?

Yes. Our physiotherapists are registered with most major Health Insurance Providers (including Bupa and Axa PPP).

In order to book with us, you’ll need to contact your insurer to get a pre-authorisation code. You’ll then need this code, along with your provider number, to complete your booking.

  • What happens in my first Physiotherapy appointment?

Your initial session focuses on understanding you.

    Your Physiotherapist will:

    • Take a detailed history
    • Assess your movement and biomechanics
    • Identify contributing factors to your pain or restriction
    • Begin hands-on treatment where appropriate
    • Outline a clear plan for next steps

The aim is to leave you feeling informed, supported and confident about your recovery.

  • How long are Physiotherapy sessions?

Follow-up Physiotherapy appointments are available in 30, 45 or 60-minute sessions, depending on your needs and goals.

Your Physiotherapist will recommend the most appropriate session length for you, balancing effectiveness with value and convenience.

  • What is a Physiotherapy membership, and who is it for?

Our Physiotherapy membership is designed for clients who want ongoing, proactive care.

    It includes:

    • One 60-minute Physiotherapy session per month (with top up sessions available)
    • Better value than pay-as-you-go appointments
    • Consistent support to manage pain, movement or long-term conditions

Memberships run on a rolling basis with a short minimum commitment, making them flexible while encouraging continuity of care.

  • What are Physio top-up sessions?

Physio top-up sessions are available exclusively to members.

    They allow you to:

    • Book additional sessions at a reduced rate
    • Buy as many as you need
    • Roll unused top-ups into the following month (valid for 30 days)

They’re ideal if your needs fluctuate month to month.

  • What is the Full Body MOT?

The Full Body MOT is a comprehensive 90-minute assessment designed to give you a complete picture of how your body moves.

    It includes:

    • A full biomechanical assessment
    • Hands-on treatment
    • Identification of movement patterns contributing to pain or limitation
    • A personalised home exercise programme

It’s ideal if you’re experiencing multiple issues, recurring pain, or simply want a clear, expert-led plan to improve how your body functions.

  • What is VALD force plate testing?

VALD force plate testing uses advanced technology to objectively measure strength, stability and movement asymmetries.

In this 30-minute session, our Physiotherapists use real-time data to:

    • Identify imbalances and compensations
    • Track progress accurately
    • Support return-to-sport or performance goals

It’s particularly valuable for athletes, post-injury rehab, or anyone wanting data-led insight into how their body is working.

  • What is Pelvic Health Physiotherapy?

Pelvic Health Physiotherapy is a specialist service supporting women’s and men’s pelvic health across life stages.

    It can help with:

    • Pregnancy-related changes
    • Postnatal recovery
    • Pelvic pain or dysfunction
    • Core and pelvic floor concerns

All sessions are delivered by highly trained specialists in a supportive, professional and confidential environment.

  • What happens in a Women’s Health Physiotherapy assessment?

Your Women’s Health initial assessment is a 60-minute session that includes:

    • A detailed discussion of symptoms and history
    • A full assessment
    • Initial treatment
    • Clear guidance on next steps

Follow-up appointments are then tailored to your needs, with options for shorter or longer sessions depending on your progress.

  • Can Physiotherapy be combined with other Ten services?

Yes, and this is where Ten is truly different.

    Physiotherapy integrates seamlessly with:

    • Dynamic Reformer Pilates
    • Classical Equipment Pilates
    • Pelvic Health services
    • Personal Training and Clinical Exercise

Your Physiotherapist can work closely with instructors and trainers to ensure everything you do supports your recovery and long-term health.

  • Is Physiotherapy suitable if I’m not in pain?

    Absolutely.

Many clients use Physiotherapy proactively, to move better, train smarter, prevent injury and support longevity. It’s as much about maintaining balance as it is about resolving problems.

  • What are the benefits of regular massage?

    Regular Massage Therapy can:

    • Reduce muscular tension and stiffness
    • Improve circulation and mobility

Many clients find massage plays an important role in maintaining balance, physically and mentally, particularly alongside Pilates or Physiotherapy.

  • Do I need to be injured to book a massage?

    Not at all.

While massage is often used to support injury recovery, many clients book sessions proactively, to stay mobile, manage workload or training stress, and simply feel better in their bodies day to day.

  • What types of massage do you offer?

All Massage Therapy sessions at Ten are tailored rather than menu-based.

Your therapist will discuss your needs and adapt techniques accordingly, which may include:

The focus is always on what will be most effective for you.

  • How long are massage appointments?

We offer 30, 45, 60 and 90-minute appointments across a number of studios.

    • Shorter sessions are ideal for targeted areas
    • 60 minutes suits most clients and allows for full-body or focused work
    • 90 minutes provides a more comprehensive, unhurried treatment

If you’re unsure what to book, our studio teams can guide you.

  • How do I book my first Massage?

Firstly, we recommend you start by finding the type of Massage you want, at a time and studio of your choice.

If you’re not sure which type is best for you, just get in touch and we’d be happy to talk you through the options. You can fill out the enquiry form below or call your preferred studio.

Whatever your reason for getting a Massage, we also recommend starting with a 60 minute session, as this will give your therapist plenty of time to understand your body and ensure that you leave feeling the maximum benefits.

Our Massage intro offer will also get you your first 2 sessions for just £170.

  • What is a Massage membership, and who is it for?

Our Massage membership is designed for clients who want consistent, ongoing support.

  • Are massage blocks better value?

Yes. If you plan to book massages regularly, blocks of 5 or 10 sessions offer better value per treatment than single appointments.

Blocks are valid for up to 12 months, giving you flexibility while rewarding consistency, however the best value option would be our monthly massage membership.

  • Can Massage Therapy be combined with other Ten services?

    Absolutely.

Massage Therapy works particularly well alongside:

    • Dynamic Reformer Pilates
    • Classical Equipment Pilates
    • Physiotherapy and Pelvic Health Physiotherapy
    • Personal Training

Our teams work collaboratively, so massage supports, rather than sits separately from your wider health and fitness journey.

  • Is Massage Therapy suitable if I’m new to Ten?

Yes. Massage Therapy can be a great entry point to Ten, particularly if you’re dealing with tension, stress or physical discomfort.

If needed, your therapist may suggest Physiotherapy or Pilates to support longer-term improvement, always based on what’s right for you.

FAQs

  • What is Personal Training at Ten?

Personal Training at Ten is about more than working hard, it’s about training well.

Our expert Personal Trainers design programmes around how your body moves, your goals, and your wider health picture. Sessions are purposeful, progressive and grounded in sound movement principles, helping you build strength, resilience and confidence safely and effectively.

  • Who is Personal Training for?

Personal Training is suitable for a wide range of clients, including those who:

    • Want a structured, personalised training plan
    • Are returning to training after injury or time away
    • Want to improve strength, mobility or confidence
    • Are training alongside Physiotherapy or Pilates
    • Prefer accountability and expert guidance

Whether you’re new to training or highly experienced, sessions are tailored to where you are now, and where you want to get to.

  • What’s the difference between Trainer, Senior Trainer and Master Trainer?

All Ten Personal Trainers are highly qualified and experienced.

    • Trainer – Delivers expert coaching for strength, conditioning and movement quality
    • Senior Trainer – Brings additional experience, programming depth and coaching expertise
    • Master Trainer – Highly experienced specialists, often working with complex needs, injuries or long-term goals

Your choice will depend on your goals, training history and any specific considerations.

  • What is a Personal Training membership?

Personal Training memberships are designed for clients who want consistent, structured training each month.

Membership options include 4, 8 or 12 sessions per month, offering:

    • Better value per session
    • A regular training rhythm
    • Ongoing progression and accountability

Memberships are purchased in-studio and run on a rolling basis, with terms clearly outlined before you commit.

  • Are PT memberships better value than blocks?

If you plan to train regularly, memberships offer the best per-session value and support long-term progress.

Blocks are ideal if you want:

    • Flexibility
    • Short-term focus
    • Training around a specific goal or period

Both options deliver the same expert-led experience, the right choice depends on how consistently you want to train.

  • What are PT blocks, and how do they work?

PT blocks allow you to purchase a set number of sessions in advance.

Blocks are available in a range of sizes and session lengths, including:

    • 60-minute sessions
    • 30-minute sessions (ideal for focused or supplementary training)

Blocks have a clear expiry period (typically 3 months), encouraging consistency while offering flexibility.

  • Can I choose session length?

    Yes.

Most clients train in 60-minute sessions, which allow time for warm-up, focused training and progression.

30-minute sessions are available and work well for:

    • Targeted strength work
    • Technique refinement
    • Complementing Pilates or Physiotherapy

Your trainer can advise on the most effective format for your goals.

  • Do I need Personal Training if I already do Pilates?

Not necessarily, but many clients find the two complement each other extremely well.

    Personal Training can:

    • Build strength to support Pilates practice
    • Address specific performance or strength goals
    • Progress load and conditioning in a controlled way

Our trainers and Pilates instructors often work collaboratively to ensure everything you do supports your overall movement health.

  • Can Personal Training support injury or rehabilitation?

Yes, particularly when integrated with Physiotherapy.

Many clients use Personal Training to:

    • Transition from rehab back into training
    • Build confidence after injury
    • Maintain strength safely around ongoing issues

Your trainer will work closely with our Physiotherapists where appropriate.

  • Is Personal Training suitable if I’m new to exercise?

Absolutely. Sessions are designed around your experience level, movement ability and confidence. There’s no expectation to be “fit” before you start, that’s what Personal Training is for.

  • Can I combine Personal Training with other Ten services?

Yes, and this is where Ten really stands apart.

    Personal Training works seamlessly alongside:

    • Dynamic Reformer Pilates
    • Classical Equipment Pilates
    • Physiotherapy and Pelvic Health
    • Massage Therapy

Our integrated approach ensures your training supports your health, not competes with it.

  • How do I get started with Personal Training?

The best way to begin is to speak with your preferred studio team.

    They’ll help you:

    • Choose the right trainer level
    • Decide between membership or blocks
    • Book your first session

From there, your trainer will guide everything else.

FAQs

Still have questions? Read our full FAQs or contact our team, and we'll be happy to assist

  • What does Wellness at Ten include?

Our Wellness offering focuses on Whole Body Cryotherapy and Infrared Sauna, designed to support recovery, resilience and overall wellbeing.

Wellness at Ten isn’t a standalone add-on, it’s an intentional part of how we help clients balance training, recovery and the demands of daily life.

Wellness is currently available at our King’s Cross studio only.

  • What is Whole Body Cryotherapy?

Whole Body Cryotherapy involves short exposure to extremely cold temperatures in a controlled environment.

    It’s commonly used to:

    • Support muscle recovery
    • Reduce inflammation and soreness
    • Improve circulation
    • Boost energy levels

Sessions are brief but effective, making them easy to integrate into a busy schedule.

  • What is Infrared Sauna?

Infrared Sauna uses infrared heat to warm the body more deeply than traditional saunas, without the intense ambient heat.

    Benefits can include:

    • Muscle relaxation and recovery
    • Improved circulation
    • Stress reduction
    • Support for rest and sleep

Sessions are calm, restorative and suitable for regular use.

  • How do Cryotherapy and Infrared Sauna work together?

Used together, Cryotherapy and Infrared Sauna offer a contrasting recovery approach, stimulating and calming the nervous system in different ways.

Many clients find combining the two:

    • Enhances recovery
    • Improves how they feel after training
    • Supports both physical and mental reset

We offer a combined intro option to help you experience the benefits together.

  • Is Wellness suitable if I don’t train regularly?

Yes. While Wellness services are popular with clients who train frequently, they’re just as valuable if you’re:

    • Managing stress or fatigue
    • Sitting for long periods
    • Looking to improve recovery and sleep
    • Supporting overall wellbeing

You don’t need to be an athlete, just someone who wants to feel better in their body.

  • What is the best way to try Wellness for the first time?

If you’re new to Wellness at Ten, we recommend starting with one of our intro offers.

    They’re designed to:

    • Let you experience the service at a reduced price
    • Help you understand how your body responds
    • Decide whether it’s something you’d like to use regularly

Intro offers are available for Cryotherapy, Infrared Sauna, or a combination of both.

  • Are Wellness blocks better value?

Yes. If you plan to use Cryotherapy or Infrared Sauna regularly, blocks of sessions offer better value per visit.

Blocks are available in a range of sizes and are valid for up to 6 months, giving you flexibility while encouraging consistency, which is where the real benefit lies.

  • How long are Wellness sessions?

Cryotherapy sessions are short and efficient.

Infrared Sauna sessions are available in 20-minute or 40-minute formats, depending on your preference and experience.

Our team will guide you on what’s most appropriate for you.

  • Can Wellness be combined with other Ten services?

Absolutely, and this is how most clients use it.

    Wellness works particularly well alongside:

    • Dynamic Reformer Pilates
    • Personal Training
    • Physiotherapy and rehabilitation
    • Massage Therapy

Many clients use Cryotherapy or Infrared Sauna before or after training, or on rest days to support recovery and balance.

  • Is Wellness safe for everyone?

Both Cryotherapy and Infrared Sauna are safe for most people when used appropriately.

Before your first session, you’ll be guided through suitability and any relevant considerations. If you have medical conditions or concerns, our team will advise whether Wellness is right for you.

  • How do I book Wellness sessions?

Wellness sessions can be booked via the website, in studio or the ten app using intro offers or blocks.

For additional guidance, or if you’re unsure which option to choose, our King’s Cross studio team will be happy to help.

  • Why add Wellness to my routine?

Because progress doesn’t just come from doing more, it also comes from recovering well.

    Wellness helps you:

    • Train more consistently
    • Feel more balanced
    • Support both physical recovery and mental reset

It’s a small time investment that can make a meaningful difference.
