Small group PT sessions – Chiswick only

Small group PT

We’re now running regular small-group PT sessions. With a maximum of 3 people, and plenty of 1-1 attention, sessions can happily accommodate all levels of experience and ability.

There are two options available:

  • – Barbell sessions

As the name suggests, these are all about the barbell – possibly the most useful and effective piece of strength training equipment around.

You’ll learn how to perform the essential lifts – think cleans, squats, presses and deadlifts. And you’ll be surprised how quickly you’ll progress – few other pieces of equipment can match it for dramatic improvements in overall strength.

Or if you’re already familiar and comfortable with the barbell, come and get some expert assistance to hit a new PB.

  • – Gym Circuit sessions

The perfect complement to your Dynamic Reformer Pilates classes, these strength and conditioning sessions make use of pretty much every piece of equipment the gym has to offer to combine bodyweight, strength and cardio training for maximum effect.

Expect to get properly hot and sweaty in these sessions, but as you’d expect from us, never at the expense of form and technique.

Prices

FAQ’s

  • – What’s a PB?

Short for Personal Best. Each session we will encourage you to try to achieve at least one personal best. This could be heavier weights, more reps, more calories, less rest time. Let us know what you want to improve on, and we’ll make it happen.

  • – What does EMOM stand for?

“Every minute on the minute”. So the next exercise or set will start at the top of the minute. Once you’ve completed the exercise, any rest you have left in the minute is yours to take. If you finish after 30 seconds, you get 30 seconds rest. If it takes you 58 seconds then you get 2 seconds. Tough but effective.

  • – What if I’ve never used a gym before?

That’s absolutely fine. If you’re new to this kind of workout, don’t worry, we’ll introduce you to the exercise and make sure you’re comfortable using the equipment (well, not too comfortable). Everyone works at their own pace and level, and there’s no pressure to push yourself further than is safe.

These sessions are fully guided by our in-house PT’s and all exercises can be regressed/progressed to fit every individual’s movement patterns and fitness levels.

  • – What does it cost?

    Single session - £35
    Block of 4 sessions - £120
Introductory block of 4 sessions - £90 (available to buy through August 2022 only)

  • – How do I buy sessions?

To buy your sessions please email or call us or ask at Reception. They cannot be bought online.

  • – How do I book in?

As with any other class on our schedule, you can book online – you’ll find Small Group PT in the class schedule. Alternatively contact Reception, either by phone, email or in person and we’ll help you.

  • – How will the coach help me if it’s really busy?

We’ve got you covered. We limit all sessions to a maximum of 3 people to make sure we can spend plenty of time with each client.

  • – I love Pilates though

So do we! And these sessions will really help you progress in your Pilates classes. By adding in more resistance training to your routine, you’ll improve strength and stamina and will achieve your goals quicker on the Reformer.

  • – How long are the sessions?

They’re 60 minutes in total, broken down into 5 key areas: the warm-up, followed by 3 separate lifting/conditioning elements, and ending with a cool down.

  • – Is there Pilates in the session?

In the Gym Circuit session, yes. We start with some mat-based Pilates to ensure your muscles are primed to work to their maximum ability over the rest of the session.

  • – Oh, no Pilates in Barbell?

Not in these sessions. Due to the technical element of the exercises, we place a big focus on technique and mobility drills to ensure your movement patterns allows you lift to your true potential. So while there are no Pilates exercises in the session, you’ll recognise and enjoy that same focus on form and control.

  • – I’m not very fit

No worries. The only person you need to compete with in these sessions is yourself. Do your best, and our trainers will support you through each stage. Come regularly and you’ll be amazed how far and fast you progress.
