We have always worked hard on the safety and cleanliness of our Studios, and we’re now more focused on it than ever. Since re-opening we have increased existing measures and put new Covid-19 protocols in place in order to keep clients and staff safe on our premises.
We follow recommended Government and UKActive guidelines throughout our Studios. We ask that you do the same.
So please read the new safety measures below.
Before/after your class or session
On arrival we ask all clients and staff to confirm that they do not have symptoms of Covid-19 and have not been exposed to anyone in the last 14 days who is self-isolating or has symptoms. All Studio staff are also required to take regular lateral flow tests and to follow governed protocols in the event of a positive result.
All clients and staff will also have mandatory non-contact temperature checks on arrival. If you are cycling or running to the studio, please allow time to cool down before entering the Studio as anyone with a temperature above 37.8 degrees will not be allowed to proceed with their class or session (we will be using our common sense if you have cycled/run to get here).
Perspex ‘sneeze screens’ have been installed at reception, and touch free sanitiser dispensers have been installed throughout the Studio – please use them on arrival and before entering studios, gyms or treatment rooms.
Changing rooms and showers are currently closed so please arrive changed and ready for your class or session. Toilets will, of course, remain open.
We are not providing towels for classes or PT sessions. Please bring your own if you need one. (Any towels used for Physio or massage sessions will be changed and washed after each client.)
Water dispensers are still in use, but we do not provide disposable cups. Please bring a water bottle. They are also on sale in reception if you don’t have one.
We are actively managing the total numbers of people – clients and staff included – in the Studio at any one time. So we may not be able to accept walk-ins.
During classes and sessions
In line with UKActive guidelines, Classes are 45 minutes, to enable for additional cleaning between classes, and to maintain distancing protocols and limits on overall Studio numbers.
Class numbers and gym occupancy have been reduced in all Studios – also in line with latest guidelines.
Trainers do not provide hands-on correction during classes and will maintain social distancing wherever possible during the class.
Blocks are not used in Reformer Pilates classes.
All equipment that is used is cleaned with ViraBact, certified to kill Covid19. It has powerful bactericidal and viricidal agents and contains no perfumes so is non-tainting and food safe.
At the start of Physio and Massage sessions your therapist will re-sanitise the treatment bed before applying a single-use paper covering.
PPE, cleaning and hygiene
For Physio and massage sessions, the therapist will wear full PPE – apron, gloves, mask and/or visor. Depending on the treatment you may also be asked to wear a mask. Any change to glove usage will only be in agreement with you.
Trainers and PT’s will wear masks during classes and 1-1 sessions. Masks are not required for clients, though you are welcome to wear one if you prefer.
All staff will be expected to wear masks when in and around the premises, and when they are not behind the reception desk.
Air handling systems have been adjusted to maximise the flow of fresh air in and out of Studios and treatment rooms.
We have significantly increased the amount of cleaning in Studios, between classes and sessions, and also overnight.
We have also purchased Turbo Static Electrostatic Sprayers to fully sanitise all equipment and surfaces though electrostatic misting.
What we ask of you
As per government guidelines, we ask that you take reasonable personal responsibility for your own hygiene and safety when in our Studios.
Current guidelines require that you wear a mask whilst in our premises, but not whilst exercising.
If you don’t feel well, have a temperature, or any other symptoms associated with Covid-19, or been exposed to someone who has symptoms of Covid-19, you must not attend the Studio. If you become ill within 24 hours of your class or session, let us know. You will not be charged for the cancellation.
As changing rooms are closed, please come changed ready for your class or session. To enable us to comply with government restrictions on numbers of people in the Studio, please arrive no more than 5 minutes before class start time. Please also note that our late arrival policy still stands, so if you are more than 5 minutes late for class you will not be able to train.
Please maintain social distancing wherever possible whilst in Studio and follow all distancing signage.
Please use the touch-free sanitiser on arrival at the Studio and before entering your class, gym or treatment room.
Please wipe down equipment carefully at the end of a class when asked to.
Risk assessment/Test and Trace
We have fully risk assessed all Studios in the light of government reopening guidance. The results of the assessment have been shared with our staff and are also available on our website.
In line with government guidelines, we will be supporting NHS Test and Trace.
