Favourite Thing to Treat:

I like treating the areas that need treating! It completely depends on the client and what is presenting on that day, but I always like including the neck in a treatment as this area can hold a lot of tension.

Charlie has always had an interest in the body and how interlinked it is with how we feel and in turn, how we think and act.

Working in the care/support industry for over 10 years, Charlie used massage throughout this time on many clients to aid with sleep, pain and stress among other issues. This fuelled her interest to begin studying as a massage therapist as she could see the benefits of manual therapy first hand. Initially, she trained in Ayurvedic yoga massage and she continued and obtained the highest level of massage training. This allowed her to deepen her knowledge of anatomy and physiology, giving her the skills to help people.

She has enjoyed combining her care work with massage and treating a lot of people with complex needs.

Charlie is a big believer that massage doesn’t need to hurt to be beneficial and enjoys educating clients on why the “no pain, no gain” attitude is outdated. She is also a big believer that you don’t need to be an athlete to receive a sports massage, they benefit everyone.

While her treatments look at the client’s needs and wants, she likes to treat holistically and work on the cause, not just the symptoms. Charlie always likes the client to leave feeling calm, relaxed and limber. She has a range of techniques in her toolbox, including deep tissue massage, soft tissue release, myofascial release and stretches.

A huge advocate of massage, Charlie believes it is an important form of therapy. There are countless benefits which she makes sure she experiences herself by getting massage treatments as regularly as possible.

In her spare time, she enjoys practising yoga and Pilates, cycling around London and reading.
