Gemma graduated as a Physiotherapist in 2003 from the University of Hertfordshire. She has been working within outpatient muscuoskeletal physiotherapy for the last 13 years, gaining a broad range of experiences in the NHS and privately. These include working in a specialist spinal team, post-operative rehabilitation in upper and lower limb disorders, sports injuries and rehabilitation, chronic pain and Rheumatology. During this time she has completed a number of post-graduate courses, including APPI Pilates, which she has enjoyed putting into use with her patients.
Gemma uses a hollistic approach when treating patients, and provides treatments most suited to her patient’s needs and goals. This may be hands-on manual therapy, exercise rehabilitation, or also advice and education to better improve self-management.
Gemma is a keen runner, having completed The London Marathon last year. Her love of running helps her understand how sports injuries can impact athletes and what physical and emotional challenges can be experienced when recovering from them.
